The "best" so far was the crash, mid-stage on Sunday. Two separate overhead and street-level camera views, and the boys spend 30 seconds grasping for possible causes, all the while oblivious to the half-dozen team cars parked on the shoulder, the soingeurs lining the road, and the bright white musette bag lying conspicuously centered in the middle of the downed riders.

Only after a break and a replay of the action a minute or so later, did Phil wonder aloud if that wasn't "one of those little bags they get their food and drink in" that might have been the cause.

Once again, you get the feeling some producer had to whisper in Phil's headphones "Um, it's the feed zone Phil...".

Who are you calling lazy? I am on my computer 7 hours a day, often when it is raining. Sometimes I run out of coffee. The French are lazy. They don't even use modern equipment. I saw one guy using a Tandy 5000. True story

The average "Joe" might think differently as he has to work for his money, but when the money won't talk "Joe" goes hungry. The Money knows who to talk to or shall we say knows who to trust and that is why P&P are still on the dumb USA telly, maybe UK, but luckily not in EuroLand.

Phil was convinced the peleton was going to split today - no clear-minded individual would have had a clue whether it would or not today. Kevin Reza was called the main animator of the break yesterday (not De Gendt, not Lutsenko...). Scherwen keeps mentioning how the big V8 diesel/turbo engines (of any well built sprinter he cares to mention) have been whistling.

I really think they believe they are creating storyline for the average viewer. Trying to make the sport relevant is some way. As if the event itself isn't enough.

The rider we are looking at now is Mark Cavendish, now he won yesterday's stage and is hoping to win a remarkable 25th stage in the Tour today.

Indeed, Phil, and do you realise that if the Manxman wins today that will put him level with the legendary Andre Leducq on 25 wins. The all time record though is held by Eddy Merckx, the great Frenchman who recorded an incredible 34 stage wins way back in the 1980s.

You're quite right about that Paul. Now, the rider we are looking at here is Stuart O'Grady. Would you believe it that he actually won a medal in the 1992 Olympic Games.

Indeed, Phil, quite remarkably that was 21 years ago and O'Grady is riding as well now as he ever was, he's riding here for the team of Orica Green Grass who won the team time trial here and who have the current yellow jersey wearer in Simon Gerrans.

Well Paul, you're spot on about that. Of course the yellow jersey is awarded every day to the rider who is leading the race, Simon Gerrans of course claimed the jersey when he beat the Slovenian superstar Peter Saggy in a sprint finish a couple of days ago.
