Poll: what kind of disaster strikes Tom Dumoulin at the TT

He was impressive out there; he looked like he was riding with the peace of mind of someone who has settled up with the Juju man.

I'd like to think the reverse karma of this thread had a part to play in his performance, and hope he now goes to the Vuelta and makes a late charge for the Most top 10 without a win, only to blow it all by winning Roubaix.

Big Tom looked great at the Olympics TT, beating elites like Dennis, Ganna, Küng , and WvA. Only Roglič at the very top of his game was better on the day. I don't want to get my hopes up too much for a full-fledged Dumoulin return, but it seems very possible now. Unthinkable a few months ago.

This thread and its title were made in jest before the TT and refer to the various mishaps other Dutch rider have had during the Olympic Games.
Very few people (if any) think that Dumoulin's silver was a disaster.

Out of nowhere Roglič crashes into Dumoulin wearing Dumoulin Amstel Gold apparel and all blame Dumoulin for it.

If you read in between the lines i was still rather close. BUT said that Dumoulin was not angry at all! He was very happy to win an Olympic medal. In addition he was interviewed by our local media where he said if he had to lose the gold medal he is happy Roglič was the one taking it.

That tells me something about both men.

Is he racing the Vuelta? I noticed that Dumoulin's Olympics prep included a pretty solid week long climbing camp with Larry Warbasse and Annemieke Vanvleuten (unusual combo, I know) surely that was with an eye towards other races as well.
