no way. then they had all the time to get back for the sprint
So they would just have to force a selection before the last lap then.

i am liking this more and more. Everyone on the forum thinks Gerrans will win, the bookmakers have him as hot favourite, most likely means he won't win,the pressure on him will be huge, other big wins he's had he's been slightly under the radar,i am convinced he will not win.

Flowerpower or Sagan FTW.

I so deeply hope you are right. If that is the case, OPQS could take alle 3 elite men titles.

My predictions:

Italy and Belgium to attack big time and make chaos
Nibali to launch himself before the last lap
Costa to be as strong as last year
Froome to abandon with 5 laps to go
Gerrans to outsprint Bala, Kwiatek, Cancellara and GVA from a group of 15
Dan Martin to be very strong, but fall
Tvetcov to finish top 20
Betancur to finish better than Uran
Navardauskas and Gallopin to finish in the top 10
Tony Martin to crush the ITT and Wiggins to beat Dumoulin for 2nd

Expectations: Spain, Belgium and Italy to blow the race apart. Valverde, GVA, Nibali to podium.
Likely reality: 2014 LBL V.2 + Valverde podium of course. Only thing more certain is a Vos win/2nd place.

So Dan Martin is gonna win this (as long as he stays on his bike that is):D

I just checked the bookies odds and Gerrans appears to be the favourite by some distance. :(

about the same odds as Sagan last year (who finished 6th) or Gilbert in 2011 (who ended up doing the leadout for Roelandts).

so lets wait and see...

If Spain, Italy, Colombia and other teams are going to race, the sprinters will:

If not, the winner will be:

Denmark is probably gonna take a couple of medals among the youngsters. + maybe a "half Danish" medal, which will appear in the medal tables as New Zealand's.

As much as I would love it, can't see Swifty beating Bouhanni in a sprint.

Looking at Italian team and reading the Cassani´s explanations I am sure they will make this race "Hell of the nord" for any sprinter, otherwice Cassani end up as a complete idiot. They made the race in Italy and they will make the race here. They will problably not win it but they will be team to remember.

No chance for Degeenkolb and even Gerrans (they could drop him already in Montreal)

Kwiatko, Valverde, Costa

Cance, somebody from Italian squad

I am really looking forward. This going to be the second best race of the year (right after the unfotgetable stage 5)

What do you guys expect of Tejay in the TT? With this parcqours he might be great, but maybe he's just too much behind the likes of Martin, Dumoulin, Wiggins and Cancellara?

Since Cancellara isn't riding the ITT, he will probably be in front of him. But I still think Tejay is slower than Martin, Dumoulin, Wiggins and also Malori. Maybe he can get a decent Top 10 (something between 5 and 7)?!

If she's good enough to deserve first then not too much to complain about— it's not really her fault, although second is her more normal place in the WC and is usually more amusing, especially a couple of years ago when we got an ultra slow-mo of her screaming "F*uuuuck!!!" at the top of her voice as she came over in second at about 2 in the afternoon :D

Was Gerrans dropped in Montreal?

I think you overestimate the route. It's really not that hard in my opinion.

He was, actually. He couldn't follow Rui's and Bauke's attacks on Camillien-Houde, and he got back because there was no collaboration in the group to try and get away. Costa said it himself. He made it back, eventually. And the Worlds are not Montréal.

Alright, thanks. I didn't watch the race so I didn't know. Interesting.

didn't ≠ couldn't.

Gerrans bridged across to that move when he had to. He definitely wasn't dropped.

He definitely only got back in the group once they stopped pulling and started looking at each other. Had they worked they could very well have gotten away. Point is, at the Worlds you would expect not only stronger attacks but people actually collaborating.

Gerro will likely do no better than Sagan and Cancellara did last year, which is come in the second group. I mean, all this drama and hype...
