indeed. Today's U23 race gave us a preview of what needs to happen in order to win it. I still believe is going to be a sprinter with climbing abilities to take it , the likes of Gerro, Valpiti, Sagan, Kristoff, Kwait,Cance- even Bouhanni & Degankolb can make it under the right circumstances

Valverde, Gilbert, Kwiat will all just wait for that last climb and try to get 10-15 seconds over the top. I think it will be Italy that could make or break this race, as can't see any real puncheur for them - unless Nibali feels in really good shape.

Wow!:D

Perfect tactics by the Norwegians.

Interestingly it looks like it might rain heavily on Sunday. Hmm, long hard race should fit perfectly for. Hmm.:p

Gerrans is fast, but let's keep it real: Sagan is still much faster than Gerrans.

Why?

That was two weeks ago. He seemed fine to me though. Not in top shape, but not far off. Also his training buddy Bystrøm seemed to be in good shape today.:D

But it all depends on the race. We could see a Valverde/Purito fight. If not during, at least after.:p

Bit of a random question - which I've actually been thinking about for a while - when was the last time the U23 champion did not have a WT (or ProTour) contract for the following season?

They have a good future it seems!

The Norwegians seem to have a good future but after all the money put into British cycling and Sky in the last decade, where are the U23 British riders?

Great result for Norway for a team with limited resources

On the track.

They did have the Yates bros last year though.

Gilbert gradients on the final climb and he's a good descender. No idea if he has the form, but it's perfect for him.

Gilbert words - “I’m a bit in the unknown with my form and my condition because I’ve shown nothing in the past few weeks then but that’s allowed me to come to these Worlds without stress or pressure. If something happens, it’s a bonus. If not, then so be it.”

Attackers make it in MSR some times.
The last time that happened, Gerrans won, so hopefully:D
Australia really need to ensure Kristoff, Degenkolb and Bouhanni are dropped if they're riding for Gerrans, with Matthews maybe not so much.

Sagan is hiding some great form. By keeping it low key at the Vuelta he's not nearly the marked rider he has been the last couple of years. Rainbow Jersey.

Will there be more intermediate timings in the pro race, any idea? Because the placement of the first intermediate timing is plain idiotic.
