I don't think that women's cycling is more boring than men's, usually it turns out to be quite exciting and less controlled. (Not today though, I am just looking at UCI channel every 10-15 minutes while doing some stuff.

)
At the same time, how many times a year do the women race with 9-woman teams? Usually the team size is smaller, which may contribute to the less controlled nature. Here, strong teams have large numbers and so people seem less convinced they can get away from the Netherlands and Italy.
In recent years though, the women's races have mirrored the men's races: Varese, Mendrisio and Firenze were good races, London and Beijing Olympics were good, Geelong was OK late on but not much to shout about before that, Valkenburg was not bad but the result wasn't really in doubt, and Copenhagen was absolutely dreadful.
In which case, we should probably fear for the spectacle in the men's race.
