I dont want to be sexist but omg, women's cycling is boring to watch.

The course for the men tomorrow is not hard enough.

Watching Sporza, it seems Belgium has four leaders tomorrow, they all think they can win,...

I'm sure you could fit another couple non sequiturs in there if you just took the time.

I don't think that women's cycling is more boring than men's, usually it turns out to be quite exciting and less controlled. (Not today though, I am just looking at UCI channel every 10-15 minutes while doing some stuff.)

At the same time, how many times a year do the women race with 9-woman teams? Usually the team size is smaller, which may contribute to the less controlled nature. Here, strong teams have large numbers and so people seem less convinced they can get away from the Netherlands and Italy.

In recent years though, the women's races have mirrored the men's races: Varese, Mendrisio and Firenze were good races, London and Beijing Olympics were good, Geelong was OK late on but not much to shout about before that, Valkenburg was not bad but the result wasn't really in doubt, and Copenhagen was absolutely dreadful.

In which case, we should probably fear for the spectacle in the men's race.

It sure isntoday, but the women races I did see usually were more entertaining than the mens race. Today is horrible though.

Is that Niewiadoma on the front? Rabo helmet Polish girl, so really should be. I think she could become a star before long. She was 11th in the Giro and was the last to stay with Pooley on her first stage win over multiple mountains, and she doesn't turn 20 until Monday.

She is racing without a transponder

Im praying for rain tomorrow else we will be bored to death im afraid.

Maybe I'm being optimistic, but I think there is plenty in the course if the riders actually want to race.

Is this considered a long distance for a ladies' race? Just trying to find another reason for the inaction other than the early crash/ big teams.

It doesn't really matter if they have three or four leaders. Sources differ, apparently ...

GVA, Boonen, Gilbert, Vanmarcke, Bakelants and Vanendert are all eager for a result, though. That's six riders who won't be too keen to do domestique duties.

So not much of a "team" IMO.

Evrytime I watch a womens race it is boring, perhaps its a jinx, for the sake of the rest of you I will switch the TV off now and watch the twitter feed.

Sorry for the intervention.

If you consider in stage races, men's races have a max average distance of 180km, women's is 110km. The main Classics for women are 130-140km (Ronde, Flèche, Worlds etc.).
