Henao is a pretty bad time trialist. I'm sure he will improve at Sky, but not by that kind of margin.

lol easy tiger. Hopefully we can take this hype in baby steps.

As in let him dominate in some calendar races before labeling him the massive favorite of the biggest one day races in the year ;) Anyway not sure where you got the idea that Haneo is an awesome ttr.

Probably solely based on that American race.

Is it?

______________

On second thought it isn't. Well, apart from being a km too short. However I remember back when they wanted to host the 2013 worlds with the same finish to the TT there was talk about an alternative TT course in case the UCI didn't like the one that ended uphill.

It seems corruption has won in the end and courses made with 1 rider in mind are slowly becoming accepted.

honestly i love the route and the rumours, some big climbing kms in a world itt is good from time to time, why not?

regarding henao and 2014 someone please give this thread a bump on 2014 and let's have a laugh.things are changing so fast in life you know,in 2007 i would have told you that riccardo ricco will dominate the grand tours and look now.
it will be pretty awesome, maybe then alberto contador won't even be the big favourite.

my pick for this itt(bump this thread in 2014 like i said:p) is gilbert who already won all the monuments by then.

Course looks good if its true. But anyway...

I can already see it - Valverde winning rainbowjersey in style on home ground.
After winning it in 2012 and 2013 of course. :)

I am so happy when this season is over and we see him again.

preview-valverde.jpg

1. Gilbert
2. Valverde

Rewind of Madrid! :D

Henao a massive favorite? Lol...

Contador will still be good then and in such a hilly time trial he's probably the best.

Gilbert would be extremely funny though :p

Depends how long they make the circuit. Could make it a legitimately mountainous one, but that would require a slightly longer circuit; they could feasibly throw in some climbs that are tougher than Mendrisio on a relatively short circuit, but a properly mountainous route would need a longer circuit.

Of course, now they'll serve up a pure flat circuit just to annoy me given the potential for so many different varieties of course that the city has.

This. You better prepare for this too happen. Since the course in Florence was tough they had to give the riders an easy time in 2014. If they make a flat race in Pontesomething I'll go sit in a corner and cry and somehow I feel this will happen...

Gilbert will not beat Valverde in a sprint.

Even if you do actually believe that he is twice the descender as Nibali and twice the sprinter as Valverde.

Because Gilbert can't win solo right?

You said " just like Madrid";)
Yes I do know you mean beating him on home soil.

Rewind of Madrid --> Belgian first on Spanish soil with Valverde second.

I doubt we'll have a sprint of around 40 men in Ponferrada :p
