Solid Team. Should be a good first GT experience for Lambrecht, he did show some good promises this year. I think the Vuelta is maybe the best suited GT for him for the nearer future with the punchy uphill finishes.

Yeah a nice breakaway team which will animate the race. We need more of those in GTs, so I can only applaud that!

Ha ha, bookies have no idea, oddschecker gives different odds for Landa, MAL and de la Cruz depending on how you format their names.

Phil Bauhaus, Johannes Frohlinger, Simon Geschke, Jai Hindley, Wilco Kelderman, Michael Storer, Mike Teunissen, Martijn Tusveld

Thought Teunissen was done for the season after his Poland crash. Kelderman starts but not expected to be 100% (Poland came too early). Will be interesting to see Hindley and Storer. Bauhaus gets a chance to salvage a disappointing season

Sunweb throws Hindley and Storer to the deep water. Good move, they will have some experience should the team need them in next year's Tour. As things stand they will, no good reinforcements so far.
A little bit surprised though that Oomen isn't in the squad.

No train in this upcoming Vuelta, gotta love it.
I am a
Zero fan of the sky train or any train including the Astana 2015 train or Movistar trains but I fear this Vuelta will have 10 men track stand 1km
Sprints every MTF. 100% happy to proven wrong but I’m scared that all that’s left is the train or average GC riders being scared because this is their one chance of a good result. I’d love an absolute 10km out attack every mountain stage but the route :(

If every MTF ends in sprints among a large number of GC riders, I think we can all be fairly sure that Valverde will be a very happy rider.

Sunweb is very much against putting young riders in 2 GT's (Oomen is 22). I'm happy they are not as irresponsible as Greenedge/Oreca/Mitchelton-Scott

Irresponsible? Didn't they pull the Yates brothers out of the Tour ridiculously early the first time they went there? Or at least one of them?

Look at how Chaves is doing ;) And Adam is going backwards since his first great GT result (4th in TDF) as well. This has a root cause.

Where are the facts that Yates x 2 and Chaves were over-raced at an early age - Neither rode a full GT until year three.

Trying to talk with yaco is pointless.

I've warned you :)

Asgreen was the last of all the neo pros I expected. Jakobsen and Hodeg have proven their worth in WT sprints already, Knox and Narvaez would be additional mountain support for Mas. But Asgreen? I guess they needed someone to spend some time at the front to control breakaways on flat stages for Viviani. The rest was pretty much what we already guessed weeks ago.

So Peter Sagan is going as well will he ride till the end and go for the sprinters jersey or abandon early on ?

Narvaez was confirmed a non starter quite a while ago as they don’t want to burn him at this age

I can't see why he would go with the intention of abandoning. He has no obvious late-season goals to save himself for, as he has no chance in Innsbruck.

The points jersey might be tough, as it normally goes to a GC man.

He will surely abandon. Question is when. Probably after stage 9 or 12. He takes Vuelta as preparation for Innsbruck and will try to pick some stages if possible. At least that was initial plan. After his crash and withdrawal in Glasgow there is huge question mark above his form and condition.
