Lotto dropped their own GC rider though.

who would that be?

Hansen who is just over 2 mins down.

Nicely played from Lotto who should mop up the places on this stage but really should have got Hansen in there.

Didn't see that. So all this is for a Greipel stage win. Sad.

Hansen doesn't have the form, he will be dropped in the mountain stage so pretty logical. Trying for the 1-2-3 finish.

Reminds me of CSC in Paris-Nice fifteen years ago. VDB was the only rider that could follow :p

Hansen doesn't stand a chance on stage 6

Probably not, but he could still have taken a fair chunk of time on the few remaining GC riders and finish higher up on GC, it wouldn't have lessened the chances of a stage win here.

Anyway, superb racing again!

Should Lotto care about a 5th place in the Tour of Turkey?

Nearly another shocking incident with a pedestrian just casually strolling across the road in front of the riders. A lady did the same on day 1.

I wonder how Lotto is gonna do this. the wind is gone (there in the city now), I hope they are not just gonna wait on the sprint.

Not surprising. Most of the people in this country are ignorant and unenlightened.

To be fair, now there are quite a few fans along the roadside in the city, unlike most races I watch that take place east of Italy.

I'm afraid Lotto needs to give up on Boeckmans winning this. They're going to have to take advantage of their numerical superiority, because waiting for the sprint and then losing would be too ridiculous.

Yes, Greipel should win easily, but it's never as certain as just having one or two of your riders arriving on their own.

Arroyo was the first guy dropped when Lotto went for it. Must've been a huge effort for him to get back to that 2nd group... ;) :p

Most of them are not even fans. They are there just because they want to see what is happening.Plus the government may have brought them and give money to them after,I wouldn't be surprised. After the race the people would continue not caring.
