I can imagine Brian Holm just shaking his head at these weaklings

Well, I don't think he made a strong argument for riding Galibier back in 1996...

Lukas Pöstlberger (Bora-Hansgrohe), Mark Renshaw (Dimension Data), Oscar Cabedo (Burgos-BH) and Jasper De Buyst of Lotto-Soudal - DNS.

Expect Samli and Willems to be in the break.

Update - after 23 km there is no break! Willems did manage to get 2nd spot on the KOM though.

We have a breakaway! Roger Kluge (Lotto-Soudal), Jose Viejo (Euskadi) and Robbe Ghys (Vlaanderen-Baloise) have 4 mins on the peloton after 39 km.

Update - the official Twitter account gives us this gem -
The Turkish national team has big hopes today with Onur Balkan, 12th on GC, and Mustapha Sayar who knows Kartepe better than any other #TUR2019 contender. "I live 30km away and I never finish a training session without climbing Kartepe", Sayar said.
