I thought Battaglin had it, but at the end he really was out of gas.
Great one for Modolo though, he really need it in order to be in a good mood for the giro.

Why can't Goss win??? It will be a matter of time before he wins whether it's here or at the Giro though.

Congrats to Modolo/ Colnago.

Congrats to Modolo/ Colnago.

They haven't got the lead out/tactics right yet. Working their way to the front too late, which leaves Lancaster too tired for a really good leadout, when the leadout is fast guys like greipel/modolo hit the front, but don't get much of a Gap. In these two stages they've flown off the front got a gap and that's all she wrote. Against Renshaw he was in the wind 50 m before Renshaw and didn't accelerate in his slipstream, just sprinted side by side but started a bike length back. Almost had it right against Bos, but again Lancaster didn't get far enough fast enough to make it a forgone conclusion.

Goss also isn't at his best, normally side by side with Renshaw it wouldn't have been a contest.

This is why I was asking whether Howard or Dean would get the leadout task. At least at the Giro they can use the Sky train. Honestly Goss should just hold Cav's wheel.

Wouldn't you know my fund management exam managed to make to make me miss Deignan in the breakaway..the one day i missed the live coverage.

Good to see him strong and in decent form, hopefully now he can find some strength and form to provide a good result in California for himself and UHC. I think Deignan in top shape can make a breakaway in California and take a stage. Well I hope anyway, not much of a chance of succeeding!

This has been a much more entertaining race than the Tour of Romandie snoozefest and more aggressive racing. Same old Vino but without the same results. What does Goss have to do to win a stage ? The other teams have a done a good job varying their tactics in the sprints and not letting Goss wait until the last moment to outkick them.
