For a long time, I didn't like Prince. But I realised after a while that I had simply been wrong, I had been missing the point. Once it clicked, I was a firm believer. The guy was a true great.

I know that I didn't really get Prince until I saw a few of his live videos around the late 90's. The extra energy, passion and extraordinary musicianship totally blew me away. His singing, dancing, personal style and musical genius was off the charts.

I've been on YouTube digging up as many of his best videos as I can find ever since I heard the news. A huge loss

Not sure we will ever know the truth about his death. I'm not buying having your plane land 45 minutes from Minneapolis due to the flu last week. Lots of rumors swirling around the internet that make some sense.

Prince’s Addiction and an Intervention Too Late

Prince Rogers Nelson had an unflinching reputation among those close to him for leading an assiduously clean lifestyle. He ate vegan and preferred to avoid the presence of meat entirely. He was known to eschew alcohol and marijuana, and no one who went on tour with him could indulge either.

But Prince appears to have shielded from even some of his closest friends that he had a problem with pain pills, one that grew so acute that his friends sought urgent medical help from Dr. Howard Kornfeld of California, who specializes in treating people addicted to pain medication.

Dr. Kornfeld, who runs a treatment center in Mill Valley, Calif., sent his son on an overnight flight to meet with Prince . . . .

But he arrived too late.
