graphics overload, but apart from that, nice looking machine, esp camp SR
I'm torn on the colour. I'd never ride it but I bet it looks awesome in person.Benotti69 said:Bustedknuckle said:[quote

This is simply beautiful.
This is the style of bike i prefer, not so much the gold colour but everything else about it for me defines bicycling.

That's because it was not adjusted properly, not because there is any flaw in the mech.
Campy Centaur. Get it in the red version and it's a great looking, great value groupset.BigMac said:Shimano Sora for the win. 105 is as far I'd ever go.
And whatever equates to that on the Campy side.

Even Veloce, the rough equivalent to Tiagra is plenty good if you aren't racing seriously.
ray j willings said:IMO , etap is the best Electronic group set. Its not bulky . Its easier to use. No chance of chain slipping or chain rub on any of the gears. You can shift multi cogs by holding paddle down. No chance of accidently hitting wrong button. The tech is more advanced . individual battery's is very clever and its light.
All the reviews have been great.
All those that have a go at Sram are just snobs I ride Sram mechanical.
You set your bike up properly and Sram works as good as anything.
When I ride alongside guys using Campy all you hear is click click click. One of my friends has had his 11 speed record rear mech go into his wheels. Mech snapped in half. It was only a few rides in.
If I wanted bullet proof then dura ace 7800. But if I want performance, easy shifting across the gears. no loud clicks or noises and lightest groupset RED is the best.
That's my view but I'm not a snob.![]()

WRONG . I really hate when people just make assumptions without knowing the facts.
My friend is a bike mechanic, he knows exactly how to set up a bike.He has been fixing and repairing bikes for nearly 20 years he also builds wheels. He has always used Campy. He has the same super record set up on his other bike. The Campy in question was on his custom made Viner.
The rear mech snapped in half. It was not under load from changing gear or anything [ that shouldn't matter anyway] . It just broke off and went into his wheel while pedalling along . It was sent back to Campy who replaced it [ took ages] They did not really say to much except it had a fault and gave him a replacement.

Sorry champ, you said "had mech go into his wheels, mech snapped in half". I am really sorry that you hate when people make assumptions, but I think from your description that it was a reasonable assumption to make - perhaps you should have been clearer about what you were talking about? Now that you have provided a more detailed accounting of what has occurred the situation is different, but really, when you say he had the "mech go into the wheels", most people that know anything about bikes would say that was because the stops on the mech were not adjusted properly.
Lifes too short to hate Ray.

Only 20 years? I have been wrenching in ProShops for 40 years and I have never seen what you described. BUT I warrantied sram stuff at the rate of 10-15 times the number of Campag or shimano stuff. Believe what you want, sram stuff is cheap, tested by consumers, light-it breaks, often.
Would rather walk that use anything from them.

I have the same pair of tuned shifters on my bike since red came out they work fine? so light you would not believe.![]()
I have the same 3 front red mechs [ under 50 grms] . I put lightweight carbon cages on them ,they work fine.
I have 2 tuned red mechs [ 87 grms/ 90 grams] they work fine
So for me Red is great shifts great no Campy clunk. 7900 shimano is a pig to shift you cannot do multi shifts like red can. I do want electronic because I know 2 people who run Di and it never works properly most of the time.
[heavy] Campy electric same reason. Heavy and cumbersome and clunky.
The new red etap is much more streamlined and I could counter all you arguments but you obviously did not read or have not read an reviews.
Like I said SNOB.

I'm on the new 2015 Chorus, beautiful stuff. Yes there's a definite click when shifting but otherwise it's brilliant. The 5700 105 on my training/commuting bike runs silently and still shifts nicely as well. As long as the drivetrain is kept clean it's great, even after 5 years of heavy use.winkybiker said:fatsprintking said:"I ride alongside guys using Campy all you hear is click click click."

Yes to this. My Super Record is breathtakingly quiet. A real stealth to it. Any groupset will be noisy if it's worn, out of adjustment or not lubed. Otherwise I have no clue what RJW is talking about.
