Yea, but how many of you pronounce AG2R as "ah-ʒey-düz-air"? And how many people will pronounce Movistar like "movie star"?

They may be asking people to pronounce the name like in Lëtzebuergesch, I just don't think in practice many people for whom "Leopard" isn't pronounced the Lëtzebuergesch way will bother.
Oh, of course everyone will pronounce Leopard as they see fit, with English speakers saying "leppard" (personally, I'll say [ˈle̯opaɾ(ð)]. But if it's supposed to be Lëtzebuerguesch it's automatically cooler in my book.

Lëtzebuergesch is a "language" (linguistically speaking it's only a dialect) with a rather restricted vocabulary in some domains. Since there aren't so many leopards in our region, we just took over the German pronounciation.

e - for cerverlo
O - for leopard
R - for radioshack

it's getting kinda silly

I would at minimum excuse Cervelo since the e' has been part of their logo since I can remember. I guess the same sort of applies to Radioshack. Leopard we may as well excuse because it is their attempt to get their name correctly pronunciated in our multi-national sport.

Lëtzebuergesch is an odd status really, it's a half-language as such - it's a dialect that has taken on various official functions. I did specify those 'for whom it's pronounced the same as the Lëtzebuergesch' for precisely that reason - the Germans will pronounce it the same and presumably the Dutch too.

Well, "leopard" isn't a Dutch word, so I think most Dutchies would be inclined to use the English pronunciation. I actually think "Lay-oh-pard Trek" sounds like ****, "Leppard Trek" has a much better flow to it.

I really don't think this is the doing or concern of the Schlecks, Nygaard, or anyone else from Leopard. This is purely Trek and their endless greed. They don't want a hyphen because it makes it look like they are "second" to leopard. They had to capitalize the whole thing because TREK!! need always be capitalized and Leopard TREK looked funny. And you can't use "Team" because it is one too many words before Trek and Trek gets lost. They Lya-oh-pard thing was probably a stupid Schleck thing they threw in there as their last demand. But the whole thing is a BS Trek escapade and I'm almost already over this team. They could have still pulled this off with a Specialized renewal.

Not sure I can keep rooting for Denifl after seeing his hairstyle.

Lol it's kind of funny how Leopard TREK leaves out the CERVELO Test Team in his biography:

He started out with small regional teams, then Austrian Pro Continental teams until he ended up joining LEOPARD-TREK.

What do you think, will Leopard Trek present a sponsor before TDF.
I think they are still desperately seeking. The rumours say that they even try to take influence to the Lux government, so that maybe a company where the government has some stocks (like arcelor Mittal) should be the sponsor.
