Pro's riding on indoor trainers

the day the giro cancelled that stage due to weather, i saw the Astana get on their tacx indoor trainers.

Any idea how long they would have ridden on them ?

Team Saxo tinkoff were also shown on other videos of their riders in a Riis training camp style all on indoor trainers.

In general how long to pros ride on these trainers ?

any info would be grateful

They would have done something similar to a rest day ride, where most riders would do a short TT style warm up followed by a full blown recovery ride. Just enough to keep the racing rythm going, so no more than 1.5-2 hours, mostly easy.

Different for different riders I guess, but we stuck to no more than 1 hour - def. not 2 hour rides in this situation. :)
