Not related but it becomes increasingly annoying to read "Sir B..." on all english websites including team sky official website

Pulling a Sir Wiggins = getting a truckload of money, fame and a sir

I want some to but it's only for a chosen few.

When Cobo will be Sir Cobo only than you can say he pulled a wiggins.

So Wiggins might be an f and g. Gilbert a/c, and g. Contador c, d, and g. Cobo a/c, f and g. Evans g with a fraction of f. Historically the dominant factor may have been variations on d, but we haven't really seen action on this front in recent years, unless it's coming in the form of taps on the shoulder from Uncle Pat.

But surely Wiggins might also be a c, or a d or an e or an h? Just as Evans might equally be a c, or a d, or whatever. As might Contador.

Or all of them might have kept on with exactly the same programmes as the previous year, but some other factors (injury, lack of motivation, overtraining, other people improving, whatever) meant their relative performance wasn't as good.

Or all of them might have been clean, with some other factors affecting their performance.

One thing I can say for sure; all the epo/blood transfusions/aicar/GW whatever in the world wouldn't have helped Wiggins descending in the Giro after he fell off, or prevented his mechanical in the time-trial, or helped him HTFU when it rained.

Sure, they all could be anything, but I'm not going to say that unless I can explain it (you are welcome to try!). Trying to assign some labels was simply based on what I feel I can give some explanation for.

Or all of them might have kept on with exactly the same programmes as the previous year, but some other factors (injury, lack of motivation, overtraining, other people improving, whatever) meant their relative performance wasn't as good.

I never said otherwise, was just focusing on the doping factor as that was what the line of discussion was about.

Cobo got a 2 year contract with a team that by all logic should not have signed him.

The irony of this thread is Wiggins hasn't pulled a Wiggins yet, particularly if he goes out and wins the ITT Worlds, but then this place has never been big on facts.

Pulling a Cobo would be far more accurate, but then you wouldn't be able to sneer as much.

So, jimmy he didn't win the itt...has he pulled a wiggins now?

This thread is ridiculous. But i guess it's not always trolling when it's right direction trolling.

So much 1 year wonder this guy, i bet there are many like him. Like Cobo right ?

In fact, except the few guys that won TdF 5+ times, i find it hard to found someone with a better, or to say complete in multiple categories, palmares.

I fear that your post advanced the argument for the opposition.

Opposition has no arguments

Thread start with "After juicing his performance to levels unseen in his career, Wiggins now cannot be bothered to ever try for a grand tour again."

It's a ridiculous attempt at a comedy thread.

Yeah, he is the Real Mc Coppi.

Only difference, those guys did track on the side, in the winter, so they could make an extra buck/dollar ;)

But, second is not bad, back to his 2011 TT'ing it looks.

@antmccrossan: ''Brad rode 450 watts majority of the way and 500 near the finish''

How does this compare with sort of numbers Wiggins was claiming to be pushing last year?

How do his results dating back to 1998 have anything to do with the topic? The things that make Wiggins a perfect example of a rider doing exceptionally well one year and then barely anything the next year has to do with Wiggins 2012 and 2013 seasons. Not his entire palmares.

Last year Wiggins won everything from stage races, to time trial stages, to the Tour. This year he pulled out of the Giro, has said he could never do another GT, and won the Tour of Britain and silver in the worlds TT. Compared to what he did the previous year, I'd say that is quite a drop off and entirely in line with what "pulling a Wiggins" means.

Bare in mind 1998- 2008 was allegedly the era of massive doping.

Of course 2009 when Wiggins came 4th -3rd in the Tour was also a year of massive massive doping with practically the entire top 10 being caught or linked in some way, but of course no one is ever going to point that out to sky so they are free to ignore that contradiction.

So you're saying that really he's the rightful winner of two tours?

(That was a joke.)

Just going to run down, for clarity.

1. Contador - Clen positive
2. Schleck A -
3. Lance - LOL Stripped so
3. Wiggo -
4. Schelck F - Positive Test
5. Kloden - Freiburg Allegations (not proven)
6. Nibali -
7. CVV - Admitted
8. Kreuzinger -
9. Le Mevel -
10. Casar -

Schleck A and Nibali certainly have allegations against them that I am aware of. Obviously Wiggo is discussed here a lot.
Anything concrete about Kreuzinger, Le Mevel and Casar ?

Two positives and Two admissions (counting Lance). Lots of allegations.
