I think that Wigans was demanding he be called 'Sir' all year and yet it was only officiated this week tells us a lot about the size of Wigans ego.

Fran Millar ‏@franmillar 10 Dec
Big congratulations to Sir Bradley Wiggins on his investiture today. Obviously we've been calling him sir all year but now it's official.

That Sky indulged him is sad.

Nice of them to skip over the **** sucking incident!

Funny.

He will make a fine pair with Sir Jimmy Savile. Jimmy molested kids. Wiggins can act as the comedy relief by making jokes about it.

Sir Bradley Wiggins, putting a smiley face on sexual abuse since 2013. He should seriously think about starting a foundation.

i honestly don't see why wiggo would sing.
it's a clear choice between eternal fame and eternal shame.

Oh, but to a more rational person, the choices are obvious. We know Wiggo to get really, really irrational even sober.

I would describe him as kind of wild like a Decanio, but he needs enough people to burn him in cycling the way Landis got it. And then he'd do a Decanio, not a Landis and it would all be a mess of allegations that Sky can deny.

He's high on my list of personalities who might bring infamy and doping controversy to the Sky/BC program. Though, Froome is starting to get a little crazy.

I was saying to my wife a few weeks ago, that Wiggo's irrationality is why I actually believe him to be clean.

He cannot be trusted to keep his mouth shut sober, let alone in the off season.

Good engine, plus weight loss, plus a team that carried him to the finish line, plus a uniquely suited course and weak opposition.

I fear once he retires, he will go the way of his father without some major intervention

nah, he doped and no doubt will in a moment of drunken clarity spill all.

Hillarious.

Wiggins would not.be given dope because he is stupid. Uh take a look contador Indurain Sanchez valverde all saying Armstrong was innocent. And countless others who were involved who say a bunch of **** they dont even think about.

Take a look at anything Chris Horner has ever said.

in fact almost all the dumbest cyclists ever were dopers. Your theory makes no sense.

Grow a pair and be honest with yourself. You believe Wiggins is clean because you are a fan who wants his favourite rider to be clean.

The fact that you have been willing to reach so so low, for one of the dumbest arguments ever invented, to convince yourself, shows it.

also Wtf does a course that was suited to him matter when he outclimbed all his opponents anyway.

And what is "weak opposition "?

The strongest non sky rider in the world is vincenzo Nibali. He was there and Wiggins made him look like a cat 1 rider.

Wiggins strongest rider in the world because he lost weight (why doesn't everyone else do that then?). Whatever lets you sleep at night:rolleyes:

These fan-based arguments totally confound me.

I would've thought a course suited to Wigans would have been a few days doing pursuits on various tracks in France, sprinkled with some flat TTs through the beautiful sunflower fields. Watson would've had a field day with that (no pun intended).

Instead, he ends up out-climbing EVERYONE except his one lieutenant. And this head domestique could drop Wigans like a rock at any moment. Both out of the blue...

Why is the field considered weak? Who wasn't there?

This bullsh*t narrative is getting old, but maybe the fans adhere to the theory that "a lie large enough, repeated enough times..."

We shall see.

I have little doubt that if he did dope, he will reveal it at some point.

Which athelte has ever volunteered to give up their doping? I think if he tests positive he might take others down with him though.

Even if you believe the weak field, clean era, perfect course stuff there is still the 2009 tour to explain.

@The Hitch, once again I am convinced you rode a bike only on PCM series. Have you ever saw a pro rider in flash? They look all like some freakin statues. Only fiber, only veins. Including Haggen, Cancellara, Martin. Good luck losing 10 kilos of muscles and still having power to train 6 hours a day. I think it was Hamilton who said that he took sleeping pills at 5 pm only to skip dinner. And he was nowhere as thin as some Sky riders.

You're kidding right?

Hamilton was a skeleton when he was on a full program and per his book Ferrari was oohing and aahing his weight loss. I'm paraphrasing but he said he didn't feel fit/fast until his jersey was falling off of him.

Do you have any record of succesful dopers/ doctors/ team managers/ drug dealers/ drug traffickers/ mafia dons/ human traffickers/ any crime in the world one can think of, voluntarily confessing to their crimes?

It makes no sense. Not only would he lose everything he has won, (respect, money) it would **** up the future of his family, his kids.

Do you know anybody who would **** up their kids future for no reason? Didn't think so. There is no logic to believing Wiggins would do that.

You look like you were about to present some sort of argument, but suddenly stopped half way through the introduction.

I have no idea what you are trying to say.

No i haven't ever ridden professionaly. I don't know what that is supposed to mean though. Eddy Merckx was pro for 14 years and was the greatest cyclist ever, but as an analyst he's worse than Ryo Hazuki. I don't see the correlation.

To this day I remember seeing his big a** climbing up Tourmalet while getting dropped on first MTF. I know I smiled when I red his book and making about cyclist's a**. He was thin, but 2003-4 thin. Chicken is the only top rider I can remember from that era who was really thin. Sky thin. Basso, Armstrong, Botero, Ullrich, all 'big' riders. Kloden maybe. Never saw him. He looked thin on TV.

Only an idiot would put someone as loose as Wiggo on a team program

DB is no idiot.

(unlike me apparently for having an odd thought along these lines)

Only an idiot would run a clean cycling team, announce they would not hire anyone dodgy, then quietly hire the radioactive team doctor of Rabobank and expect everyone would continue to believe him as he protests "we are cleans".

DB most definitely is an idiot.

Or he is doping.

ps could you explain this logic of why an intelligent person wouldn't let wiggins dope? Im assuming it makes more sense in your head but I really don't see how that is supposed to work.

there's a picture of him from the 03 Tour with his arm in a sling looking pretty skeletal

a bit off on the arm in the sling bit

I will agree the other riders you list were fat by Sky standards, and you may have a point with Hamilton for the Phonak/Tinkoff years. I think end of USPS and early CSC he rivals at least Wiggins. Chicken and Dawg are on another level.

Back on topic, I can see Wiggins getting black out drunk and shooting his mouth off about something incriminating.

I said it's hard to lose even a kilo when you're only muscles. You may think: "yeah, they are all day on the bike climbing hills, they lose 10 kilos from Monday to Thursday. That's why people go to gym, to lose fat. They are like 6 hours a day at intensive gym." It's not like that at all. A fat person lose 20 kilos faster than a cyclist 5 kilos. It's one getting rid of fat and it's something different reducing your muscle mass.

Stephen Swart confessed without any pressure. He wanted to clear his conscience.

It is rare for an athlete to confess to cheating, especially if they have made a fortune from it, but I think the Wigans of 2007 will regret the doping that the Wigans of 2009 started.
