its the Menchov compromise.Go away quietly and we wont disclose anything with the jiffy bag

That's got a Cookson Menchov move all over it. Too funny. Glad he got the the kids mentioned in the goodbye message along with kid from Kilburn.

Okay overall it's positive but the very fact that there are so many barbs re asthma, allergies, cheating (plus - and here's the key - take note of how many recommends these comments have) is gobsmacking when you consider the Knight's status only a few months ago.

Its the Grauniad, most of their readers don't really like the honours system.

In total, Cope had to spend two days travelling — at an expense to Team Sky of almost £600 — to deliver a legal decongestant that would have been available over the counter in a French pharmacy for only eight euros.

On Wednesday night, select committee chair Damian Collins MP told Sportsmail: 'The more we discover about the package, the more new questions seem to be thrown up.

'We now know from Simon Cope's expense claims that the request to take the package must have been made some time in advance, and that he travelled from southern England up to Manchester to collect it, and then went back to fly to France from London Gatwick.

'If this medicine was needed urgently it would have been much quicker to buy it in France.

'We also know from last week's hearing that the medication was administered as soon as it was delivered.

'It also seems that British Cycling themselves do not know categorically what was in the package. They say they understand it to be Fluimucil but do not explain why they understand that it was.

'We need to be sure that British Cycling do keep proper records of what goes in and out of their medical stores.'

I'm really enjoying this.
I reckon pre-Fancybears Wiggo was counting his blessings.
Then from fancybears to the jiffybag it went so quick Wiggins probably still doesn't know what hit him.

Ones things for sure is that Wiggins will be hitting the bottle over the next few weeks.

Well It's never too early to start a reconciliation tour.
He could probably use some advice right now from the likes of Floyd and Kimmage, both of whom I reckon will tell him to piss the *** off.

Why would he? He's made millions - he'll retire and live a quiet live, which is what he wants.

They all miss the attention, and in this case, he stuck around just a little to long a la Armstrong.

I think the bag contained supplies to extract a pint or so of blood. Why else would the physician be needed and why would they do it immediately after the end of the race? These riders can administer EPO themselves. I don't think they are drawing off their own blood, at least not on a team with the resources of Sky.

The Dauphiné finished just over a month prior to the Tour. That would almost give his body enough time to replenish the blood itself. Wiggo was probably short blood bags as he was using them all spring to get the results he did.

This reminds me of a famous tweet from Lance.
Bullseye.

@quickturns: he was very likely doing EPO and blood in that period, I agree. But the bag could have contained anything from (cortico)steroids to EPO to testosterone. We don't really know. Fact is it wasn't flumicil and it was a PED. The rest is clutching at straws.
Question is how Matt Lawton wants to play this and what kind of legal options he has. After all it will be his informant's word against Sky's word. I doubt he can just put it in print without a second source backing him up.

Yes they did.
Two months too late though and after having attempted to bribe the journo to make the story disappear.

Brailsford here calling on the servies of Olaf Schumacher from the UCI blood passport committee to make sure a similar unfortunate situation like with Hayles won't occur again:
https://www.theguardian.com/sport/2008/may/07/cycling
Schumacher who later got caught up as a main suspect in the Freiburg University (blood) doping ring.

It's like Uli Fluhme said on twitter, everybody knows what's (been) going on, but we're forced to watch this farce unfold in slowmotion and dance around it.

Wiggins aint going to love a quiet life. His EGO wont allow it.

Wiggins upset a lot of people in the last 6 years. That is not the person to suddenly slip off quietly to a rural shire and potter around the garden for the rest of his days. Wiggins wants his cake, all of it and to eat it.

Wiggins loves nothing better than to abuse people who question his myth.

There's a theoretical small chance, that there was nothing or nothing special in that Jiffybag. If I was DB or BW I would have done so myself, let it loose and just to see media and peoples go abso-lutely mental. Like they did.

Nope this is not Brailsford style. Guy is a control freak. If there was nothing in the jiffybag, it would not be at this stage. Something pretty serious was in that bag and Wiggins/Brailsford/Sky/GB cycling/Sutton/Cookson are in trouble.

It is rather interesting that big mouth Wiggins has gone into hiding rather than shooting from the hip at everyone who questions what was in the jiffybag.

HGH, testosterone, epo, kenacort........list is endless really.

Wiggins silence on it screams guilty.

this.

Sir Wiggins had everything lined up for himself. Was gonna do some TV and radio work, some charity rides. Some commercials. Some guest appearances here some guest appearances there.
Parade with wife and kids if so desired.
Exploiting his market value and living the VIP life.

Fancybears and the jiffybag must have hit him like a bad dream.

If Wiggins goes down, I bet he's gonna toss Froome under the bus double quick. No way he sits around next summer watching Dawg in yellow all over the media. Won't matter who else goes down too. Might even be a bonus if this takes out Cookson as part of a package deal?

Wonder how much Sky paid/promised Froome to get him to back off and let Wiggins win that Olympic year TdF?
