So, the goal is to win Giro-Vuelta for Purito

http://www.cyclingnews.com/news/exclusive-i-can-win-giro-and-vuelta-in-2014-says-rodriguez

I don't think he will win the Giro. He wants to perform well in the classics, he dearly wants to win LBL. He also says in the interview he wants to fight for a stage win in Oman, which means he has to arrive in proper form already there. I can't see him hold his absolute top level till the third week of the Giro, comparing Porte and Quintana who have a different approach and will be fresher.

Vuelta he can win, he is perhaps the big favorite, but that will be his last chance. The worlds is only a possibility if the Spanish squad make the race extremely hard, because i heard from Freire that the course is suit to guys like Sagan, Boonen and Degenkolb.

And they have to make sure they don't have a fight again like this year, but Purito will i think be a little bit fresher dan Valverde, who will ride the Tour-Vuelta.

Well, no TA and Pais Vasco for Purito?

http://www.biciciclismo.com/cas/site/noticias-ficha.asp?id=68697

If he wants to fight for victory in the Giro, it's a logical choice. Now he will come into the Giro fresher. Perhaps he did to many races te last year, but that's just the strenght and nicest thing about this man, he fights everywhere and doesn't think about the next race.

In TA, he had won the stage to Guardiagrele. To bad, because i would love to see JRod on that monster! The fact the don't compete at Pais Vasco, doesn't mean a thing for the classics, because last year he also didn't rode Vasco.

But lesser Purito in the first cycling months, which is a pity ofcourse:(

I do agree though time is defo running out he had to do the TDF for his own mind and he as ticked that box now i think he will never ride the TDF again unless he done a double GT win lol and thinks stuff it i can try for the TDF. I think he deserves a GT more than any other rider in the Peloton dont no what you lot think? 1 unlucky day in La Vuelta will haunt him on such an easy day aswell, it was close between Contador and Purito but Purito was defo better in that race.

+1. like you said if he can win Vuelta and Giro, he will try to take another shot at TDF. He has better chance on Giro and Vuelta. I think he can compete with Porte, Cadel, Uran, Quintana (maybe in Giro).

Purito enjoying company

Purito ripped

Today I had a discussion on wheter endurance athletes are fat or not. I remember Purito published a selfie after Lombardy where he was totally ripped, but now I can't find it. Does anyone have a link?

I read in an interview @ cyclingquotes.com that Purito said he wasn't as strong as last year in Oman because last year he was peaking to Liege and this year he is peaking to the Giro.

I can't believe Purito isn't peaking to Liege... But on the other side, Porte, Quintana are all skipping the classics and are in topshape the third week of the Giro. Wat do you think? Will Purito sacrifice a possible Liege win for the Giro?

He peaks to LBL, his most beloved classic. Purito doesn't ride Pais Vasco and Tirreno (which is a radical decision by his standards), just to arrive fresh at the Classics and Giro. Guys like Purito can hold their best form for a long time (remember last year), and peaking in LBL and Giro is not a problem for your chances in the last race.

Could purito handle nairo? I would put nairo slightly ahead in a mtf. Purito clearly has more experience...

Normally i would say Quintana is a little bit better in the mountains, but if you look at Purito's program till the Giro, you know one thing: he will arrive fresh at the Giro.

Didn't di Luca win LBL and the Giro in 07? It's def. possible.

He looked strong and comfortable today.

Maybe he plans to do a "Gilbert 2011"? I don't know if he cares about Amstel through.

I think he hates the Amstel due to last year;)

Purito deserves more respect indeed. Everyone is talking about Froome and Contador for tomorrow. But Purito is just going to take his second stage win, and the GC at the end of the week. Why would Conta drop him?

Because Contador is a better climber. Quite simple really.

I haven't seen it the last 2 years. He won the Vuelta due to a perfect gamble and fighting spirit, but he wasn't the better climber.

Tomorrow is just a Purito climb. So it will be 2 in a row, otherwise he sucks
