Regardless, the US team raced hard but ultimately with futility. Skin Quimmons was strong like bull but Matteo was only good for annoying Remco by not pulling.

Probably crashed out. A number of crashes happened before we even got live images. My friend was on Le Tolfe and he told me many riders had blood on their faces / arms and ripped jerseys. And that's only the riders who made it to the circuit.
