Anyhow, not racing isn't really relevant at this point either. Most people come back from a break after the classics at this race and are nowhere near top shape.

Get a grip, guys. When has he ever NOT been able to do this? Is it suddenly an indication of doping just because he has been in the searchlight recently?

Anyway, his base level is pretty damn high. He won that 2011 TdF breakaway stage against Voeckler easily while being completely off form. And as maltiv says, most others are also coming back from a break now, so it's a level playing field D).
