Well, he did finish ahead of all of Euskaltel (and most of Rabobank, for that matter). As a domestique

I think Theo Bos should be the leader for Paris-Roubaix, if they take him to the velodrome he'll smoke 'em.

Even if Bos arrives in Cance's slipstream with 3rd place a minute back he would still be too badly positioned to win the sprint.

Or he would just throw Cance off his bike, one of the two.

He is doing well, but not "I will get a podium in a classic" well, I'm afraid.

Looks like a podium was secured today. I think Breschel will be able to fight for some more podium places in the upcoming classics

Well, that one came back to bite me in the .ss pretty soon. Well done, Matti.

Lars Boom has been sick, reportedly. Too bad, these are the races where he should shine, I don't expect him in the Monuments.
He has been sick prior to the E3/GW. But recovered in time, but was still a bit weak. We'll see how he is fully recovered.

It's too bad tho. He really did seem good in Omloop until the fall. I wanted to see what he could do this year but this untimely illness will cause him to miss out on top form

Leukemans proved it is possible to do both. He was really strong that day in Roubaix. Still finished 13th I think with all the bad luck of the world.

Wait, Breschel is riding Fleche? Who does his team think he is, Freire?

I also see that he is on the provisional startlist for the other Fleche.
Breschel is scheduled for all hilly classics as one of the leaders.
His real peak is in LBL instead of RVV.

Rabobank think he can do better there based on some world championships on very hilly courses

I think Breschel is best suited to races like the ronde, E3 and hilly cobbles classics along with AGR and other short steep hilly races. The classics with longer climbs like LBL and Lombardia I dont think he can win. But yeah he was pretty damn strong in roubaix in 2010 so idk why they are keeping him out. He is one of those rare riders that can actually compete from sanremo all the way through the ardennes.

I think the Fleche Wallonne finish is too difficult for him.
He's only said he'll ride Amstel and LBL, nothing about Fleche.

Just don't get why Matti is not riding PR - especially now with Boom in questionable form. Drop Amstel or FW and take part in PR if it's too exhausting to participate in them all in April.
I don't think PR really suits his strengths.

I sure hope Matti will win one of the classics this year. I hope it so badly.

I agree that he should also have ridden Roubaix because he is one of the best in that race. But on the other hand it will be very interesting to see how he does in the hilly classics. I think he will do very well. He has the strength and endurance required and seems to be on the right path to a great form. Liege and Lombardia will be very difficult, but Amstel should suit him very well.

Cant wait for the worlds 2012. I predict him to win if Denmark gets at least 5 riders to support him.

So decent result by Matti today. But without him, Rabo would be a much bigger fail. Still disappointed with the lack of more support for matti. Great riding by Wynants but still...classics and rabo do not go together.
But surely they'll take top 3 gc in basque country :D
