Funny how they lump in research with the other programs. All the groupies think that their money goes to finding a cure. Smart to not let them know that less then 4% has gone to research

Of course it goes back to the point that cancer is not a new cause, there are many other charities involved, some of which heavily support research. LA decided to find a niche elsewhere. Whether that niche is a good use of all this money is certainly a question that can be debated.

In regards to the above:
The following exchange from the "comments" is enlightening.

Could you please tell me specifically how much money per dollar goes for lung cancer research?

Brooke McMillan (LIVESTRONG Staff) says:

Mary- LIVESTRONG is not a site-specific organization and we are not a traditional funding source for research. We did at one time, but we turned to focus on other areas. There are many wonderful groups out there that fundraise specifically for cancer research and those specific to lung cancer. LIVESTRONG focuses on supporting and empowering people with all types of cancer- including lung cancer survivors. We offer direct service (the navigation services mentioned in the post) and advocate for cancer funding on the national level. We are globally making cancer a priority through our efforts at the UN.

So is this anti-RaceRadio?

And, what is the deal with 'answering all inbound questions'? Isn't that a bit of an overstatement? Or, is she also the person that is erasing the questions instead of providing the answers?

Dave.

You may have answered your own question. Notice the original wording, it's not "answering" but "addressing."

more than one poster has stated something about the way they think non profit status works in the real world. I think lots of people would be surprised at how many bike race teams at the highest level are run as non profits. Doing a couple of lectures, safety seminars in schools, giving away t-shirts w a helpful message, or cheap to free helmets to those in need are the obvious but not only ways to maintain the status. LA Sheriffs were just a start of upper level teams that were non profits. Animal rescue groups and collecting unwanted items to send to the 3rd world are ways to get incredible tax breaks in the US. Fun rides and 10k run/walk can also find a 501 status shelter.

evangelist |iˈvanjəlist|

noun

1 a person who seeks to convert others to the Christian faith, esp. by public preaching.

• a layperson engaged in Christian missionary work.

• a zealous advocate of something

so we are dealing with a cult that will no doubt, if it survives, try to follow a trajectory similar to the scientologists.

Did a lawyer take over power of the antiraceradio twitter account? I'm getting civilized responses.
Someone cannot be that well spoken AND still a fanboy at this moment in time, or...?
