In retrospect, Carapaz could have dropped them all on the last hill. IMO he was the best rider in the race, considering the course profile. Looked amazing on Mikuni already. I think that was all tactics.

Not sure what Woods was thinking. One stupid move after another.
The stop/starting behind roasted the chasing group a lot harder than the consistent pace Carapaz was doing.

I was gutted to see that little sneak Carapaz win Gold.
Never in a million years would he have attacked like McNulty did, showing guts and daring.
But once he saw the American have a go Carapaz thought: "I can get on that wheel and sit in."
After shielding from the wind and following McNulty for as long as possible Carapaz saw they had a decent lead and that it was worth his while contributing to the effort.
It's a real pity McNulty could not hang on for the win.

Wout with all the watts, yet decided to hand the most dangerous attack in the finale almost a minute. More important of course to chase down Fuglsang and Woods on their own.
Oh wow, so now it's Van Aert's fault that he didn't bring back EVERY attack, after having each and every single opponent ride against him since Pogacar's attack?
Or is it because the nationality of one of Fuglsang/Woods that brings you to this rather ironic statement? How is an attack of Carapaz/McNulty, who have shown jack sht in 1 day races in their careers, more dangerous than the attack of two riders who actually have pedigree in 1 day racing?

I too find it nonsense when people disagree with me.
They are about to hand out more than 300 identical trinkets of identical value almost entirely to people nobody has ever heard of or will ever hear of again outside their own countries. Richard is now a sporting hero in exactly the same way as some guy sitting in the middle of the boat in the coxless fours.

Did anyone watch feed with two Australians, one male and one female? Who were they? The guy was so weird (kept looking for Australian in every group, Fulgeslang, Roberto Uran, Richard Gaudu from Spain, WvA is favorite for the sprint but that's just because you never saw anyone else sprinting since they making career of winning uphill, etc.). His female partner was okayish but never made any attempt to correct him and just lived in her own world.

Anyway, really happy for Carapaz, was irritated by him at the Tour, not for long.

Was it Rochelle Gilmore. She's usually pretty good.
