I think last year we didn't really see Van Empel and Pieterse face each other in their best form. Once Pieterse had found her legs in December, Van Empel was hampered by illness and injury, and a general lack of confidence. When Van Empel was healthy again, Pieterse got knee problems and then on top of that she got sick on the final training camp for Worlds.

Let's hope for some proper duels, and not races where Fem is almost coming to a halt on the descents, or where Puck loses 10 seconds on every climb.

Any suggestions on how to watch the first WC this weekend? Have a VPN and don't care what language the broadcast is in.
I usually watch on RTBF.be, the French-language Belgian broadcaster. I believe you have to register, but at no cost. If you’re able to get up early to watch it live just click on Directs when you open the home page. There will be a list of live broadcasts (mostly futbol). Unfortunately I don’t manage to get up early enough to watch Euro cross because it’s dark so early over there. To watch a replay there is a string of recent broadcasts just below the “Directs”. Or go to the top of the page and click on Serie and then choose “Auvio” from the drop-down menu.

Thank you for the thorough response 👍

If you don't find a replay on the RTBF (not shown on their upcoming directs), you can also find it on L'Equipe (https://www.lequipe.fr/tv/), en français naturellement.
Scroll _quickly_ down to "Replays et Résumés", towards the bottom, click on the «Tous les Sports» icon, then click on the "cyclo-cross" icon.
The site also requires a no-cost account to view beyond the first couple of minutes.

Fem snubbing us Sardinians!
She's not the only one. There will be a decimated field lining up in Sardinia, unfortunately. Once again poor planning by the UCI, to have a race in Dublin one week and then Sardinia the next. Dublin is already pretty difficult to get to and back within a weekend, with all the equipment. If there were only full timers working in cyclocross it might be possible, but a lot of these people are parents etc. who have regular day jobs.

Thank you . . . I couldn’t find it on RTBF so perhaps they’ve changed what they cover since last year. Much appreciated!
