That's not very nice. This time it was mostly Vanthourenhout with the dirty tactics though, almost rode Nieuwenhuis off his bike before the barriers. Good to see Nieuwenhuis simply riding them off his wheel in the end.

Me too. Joris is very skilled and has very good power. He also seems to be a modest and likable person.

I think it's the mentality instilled in them by Jurgen Mettepenningen, their manager. It's a bit like Quickstep with Lefevere: us against the world.

He's been around a long time and must know every course backwards. He seems to just go for it in races that suit him, and back off in others just doing enough to earn his start money.

Excellent news. Dire was the very last rock concert I attended (and he was great). And I’m a Pieterse fan too.

I'm not sure Mark Knopfler can do a lot there... how much sway does he really have, certainly among a younger, more diverse audience (which is where cyclocross struggles, even in the heartland). I thought it was just a nice, random fact.

So the first UCI weekend in the USA is in progress in Missoula, MT. Kind of an isolated city, but they've hosted the Pan Ams two years in a row and people know how fly in by now... except the Missoula airport has been closed 4 straight days for a planned runway project.

As you can imagine, the fields for the men's and women's UCI races are rather sparse.
