Well, I really didn't expect Styby to be this good, if he wants to focus on the road. But he was a monster today.

Hope we get to see his jersey sometimes though!

On the contrary. He's much fresher than the rest, lack of specific training can't add down for that. It was expectable.

Albert and Nys said it, in the post-race interview. By the way, Styby does not focus on the road. He clearly said he would remain a crosser for his whole career. A crosser at heart. :)

Page was riding with a damaged rib at 5000 ft so good he managed sixth. The first three riders are familier with the Valmont course.

This was a great race day with mostly sunny weather although high winds blew up from time to time. Great breakfast burritos and free Noosa yogurt samples. Only downer was that it took 45 minutes to exit the parking lot.

Awesome race today. Races within races, all good.

Page finishes top Yank. They really need to get out more.

Wout van Aert wins on the Koppenberg :eek:

Bit of a messed up sprint though, but I think Van Aert was the strongest anyway. I knew Van Aert was a huge talent, but today he was just amazing for a 20 year old!! :D

Yay KP :)

I never thought he could win Zonhoven. Normally not a course for him but it's amazing that he won almost all the hardest crosses of the season in his career: Overijse, Koppenberg, Asper-Gavere, Ronse, Namur and now Zonhoven. :)
Only misses Koksijde because of Nys' irregular sprint. hmm well okay Valkenburg too but it's too recent.

Painful weekend for Nys, but I'm glad Pauwels didn't give up after Nys' (very dangerous) attack, as he seemed stronger! Nys really needs to win by racing intelligence this year, it seems, and also by his great recovery at weekends.
