There was a while when every race was "Vos -> huge gap -> Daphny vdB -> huge gap -> fight for 3rd"...

Been awhile since those days. More recently it's been Vos -> huge gap -> Compton - fight for 3rd

I'm not quite ready to put Prevot up there with Vos just yet. It's pretty obvious Vos wasn't her usual self with the injury. Still, the other girls are definitely stepping up thei game.

Felt for Cant though....would have loved to see her take the win.

I'm really glad she didn't win. Her attitude after the race and her complaining about Prevot's and Vos' cross schedule looks bad to me. Maybe they don't have a full cross season in their legs but they race almost year round and have road and mtb races in their legs.

Agreed. Cant should have accepted defeat graciously. What was Cant doing when Prevot was racing the Giro Rosa or the WC road race?

Oh, don't get me wrong, Vos is still the dominant force and when on form I would expect her to triumph. And when it comes to sprints she will destroy PFP 99 times out of 100. But PFP hasn't turned 23 yet, still room for improvement, and because they're on the same team, especially on the road if she gets her attacks in first and can make them stick... it will be like the days when van Vleuten got loads of wins because nobody wanted to drag Vos to the line, except even harder to fight back against because PFP is stronger than Annemiek.

Ferrand-Prevost and Vos have had time to rest after their road season. Cant came to Tabor with her long cross season in the legs. It's a bit of a race falsification. It's their right though and their own credit to be able to perform on the road but it seems clear that Cant couldn't fight with the same weapons there.

This exactly, I just read the article on cycling news. Complaining about Prevot and Vos being fresh.
It's a joke surely.. Vos and Prevot ride almost twice amount the races that Cant does over a full year. But that she conveniently forgets.
She should shut up and pedal

Cyclocross is so big in Belgium because the best riders battle against each other every race of the season. That's why Nys is so popular and why nobody likes Vantornout. When you're then beaten at the Worlds by a fresher rider who you haven't seen all year while you have been winning pretty much every race, it's perfectly understandable to be frustrated.

Vantornout was sick during the Christmas period. That's why he's missed several crosses. Everybody's entitled to get sick. Okay there was this conflict with the GvA but that was a long time ago. I rather like Vantornout. I don't see how he's not riding all season long.

Of course, I agree with you, on the whole, though. Pretty bold to trash Cant for what she said. It stands to reason...

Vantornout is always sick, except when the championships are coming up ;) in Hoogerheide he was sick again, lol.

Albeit sympathizing with Cant surely she is not implying that - if both are fit - she could beat Vos if they would race the same programme. Her frustration might be clouding her judgement. With that being said, with Vos' injury this was her best shot and for PFP to swoop in and take that gold from her I could understand why she'd be frustrated...

Mathieu!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :):):)

Van Aert so strong though. Mathieu would have had a tough time winning if Van Aert didn't have mechanical issues.
