On Sunday is the first round of the Superprestige takes place this weekend. It is at Gieten in Drenthe, the Netherlands this weekend. Last year's race winner and overall series winner won't begin his series title defence this weekend, due to a knee injury after a crash at the Tour de l'Avenir in august. Riders that will be there, however include Kevin Pauwels, Wout van Aert, Lars van der Haar, Tom Meeusen, Laurens Sweeck, Klaas Vantournout, Phillip Walsleben, Sven Nys and many more.
In the womens race, the Headline riders are Sanne Cant, Ellen Van Loy, Helen Wyman, Nikki Harri, Sophie de Boer, Jolien Verschueren, Sanne van Paassen and loads more. World Champion Pauline Ferrand Prevot is not riding, and nor is world cup leader Katerina Nash.

Good victory for Wout van Aert in the mens (2. Lars van der Harr, 3. Tim Merlier) and also for my personal favorite Sanne Cant in the womans (2. Nikki Harris, 3. Jolien Vershueren), there's highlights of the final 35mins (mens) below, with high-vis Nys (4th) unclipping in the sprint for third place.

Also seems like Stybar won't be competing at all this year which may be good news for some but I prefer to see his winter return, shame.

Meeusen won in Ardooie yesterday meaning that Ardooie will be the only traditional cross Nys never won during his career.

Anyone have a replay of Zonhoven? I've tried everything I can searching in English, but sometimes other language links don't pop up...

Edit: Not highlights. I don't know the result, and want to try for the whole race first.

The youtube channel "Cyclocrossable" or another one called "Roderic Kreunen" upload what they can get for the Belgian cx scene. It should be the live coverage from Telenet Play sports or Sporza.

Today in the world of Cyclocross, it is the European Champs in Huijbergen, the Netherlands. And for the first time and elite mens euro jersey will be handed out. The defending champ, Sanne Cant, is back to defend her title in the womens elite race, while its all up for graps in the elite men with no defending champ.

Tommorrow is the Ruddervorde Superprestige, where I think world champ Mathieu Van der Poel will start his season after coming back from injury in the Tour de L'Avenir in August. It will be live on Sporza:

On the wednesday there will be the Soudal Classics Jaarmarktcross at Niel in Belgium.
It will also be be live on Sporza.

Finally have been able to watch a cyclocross this season, though not live but at least I didn't know the outcome in advance and it was the best I could see, with Kevin soloing all the way from first to last lap. :) And some claimed he's a wheelsucker...

Lars wasn't at his best after the euro title and Wout had a bad first half.

Hopefully I'd be able to see Niel tomorrow (without Wout :() and then two of my faves next weekend: the sandy Koksijde & the spectacular Asper-Gavere (though impossible for me to see it live). ;)

Possibly both with Mathieu :)

oops, seems I'm not following correctly, Koksijde is the following weekend. But I was glad to enjoy Kevin's second win in a row. :) By the way, I just discovered Michael Boros, what's his past? Good young rider? Lol first non-Belgian as #9. :D

Finally some rain forecasted for the weekend. Should make Gavere even better. The race I look forward to most every season :D

Looking forward to Loenhout, Zolder, Baal, Leuven and Diegem in the next hard weeks.
Zolder and Diegem will probably be for Van der Poel, while the rest will be for Van Aert and maybe Nys in Baal.
An outsider like Boros / Sweeck for Zolder?

So I have missed large parts of this season unfortunately, especially in the beginning, but today was excellent. I should be watching more CX again. :)

Van Der Poel looking strong again. Nice to see a strong Pauwels as well. Too bad Van Der Haar had a flat in a crucial moment, though. Also nice to see Venturini in the top 10 or thereabout. We need another good Frenchmen now Mourey is getting old.

I only started watching the last 5 laps. Do you know why Van Aert was so far back today?

Just a bad day today. On Sporza they asked they asked his DS, who said Van Aert wasn't 100% this week, so apparently they kind of expected it, but he didn't explain what exactly was going on, he just said Van Aert hadn't been 100% lately.
