Koppenberg Cross tomorrow and a disappointing start list in the women's race.
Let's be honest, it doesn't really matter, if Van Empel is on the startlist we know the outcome. There's two more (for the neutral viewer) "boring" women's races coming up and then Fem will take a break as well. When she returns Puck will probably also be back, that should at least make the races somewhat closer.

There's still the battle for places on the box between Alvarado, van Alphen, and van der Heijden. And the suspense of waiting for Schreiber to blow up (she did finish fifth on Sunday).

Only 7 riders beat the 5 min default penalty

Another impressive performance from Thibau - you'd have to make him the favourite for the Euros. And a good battle behind, with previous winners Lars & Eli in 2nd & 3rd. And another great ride from Cam in 4th - I think he may get a big result this season.
Re: European championships - will the huge storm schedule to hit the English & French coasts still be around Sat and Sun? Should certainly ensure a very muddy affair.

The forecast for Saturday is still very windy and rainy. Sunday is not that bad.

The storm is certainly already a problem, for the Belgian team at least: they were planning to go tomorrow, by TGV, but the trains are cancelled.

Van der Haar is becoming such a diesel in his old age, it's unbelievable. The days of Lars van der Holeshot are long gone.
Gran' daddy van der Haar (31! ;)) is looking better than ever. His ride at Maasmechelen was almost the best I've seen him ride. Solid transitions, jumping barriers, quick running and almost no mistakes. Thought we had seen the best of him but he still has more to give!

In that same race couldn't help to notice that the Trek Baloise riders came in seriously hot on Iserbyt. He was constantly swarmed and must've had a rough time staying focused. He should have credit for not loosing his temper and that he continued grinding and secured a second place behind LvdH.

MVDP will do a kind of stage race of crosses during the Christmas period: 5 crosses in 7 days. Pretty cool.

Van Empel will skip the next two weekends, and return in Kortrijk. Her DS Jan Boven says that the only classification they're possibly aiming for is the X2O. Good news for Alvarado, who now becomes the main favourite to win both the World Cup and the Superprestige.

Nice Christmas present for us viewers!
