I believe Fleur Moors will be something. Not a guaranteed future world champion of sorts, but she could become the better Belgian lady in the coming 10-15 years.

same with his punch on the hilly finishes on the road last year. Just miles better than anyone around him and similar like VDP's uphill sprints

The problem in CX is that Nys hasn't been able to find consistency. He looks super for one race and then he's off the back in the next race. It could be motivation, diet, training, and/or recovery. He hasn't found the balance yet to be a podium threat for every race.

This season shows development in that regard. It's indeed like Thibau misses some focus from time to time, but he also had his share of bad luck. He's rarely 'off the back' anymore. Also, he's really hard for himself and hungry for more and better. Give him one or two years and he will be the dominant factor (apart from the ET's).

I haven't heard why the Holmgrens stopped after Zonhoven. Obviously Ava crashed, but I can't imagine their whole plan was to do only 2 races each during the kerstperiode. Both are now down in Spain training like everyone else, but neither is signed up for Benidorm.

Bella had been doing some rides with some of the Canadian CXers and her dad, and today posted a ride from the Lidl-Trek road team camp with Ellen van Dijk and Riejanne Markus among others. Ava doesn't appear to post on Strava, but seems like she's done at least a few easy rides with her dad, also rode with her dad in Roubaix before heading down to Spain. (Mr. Holmgren is a cycling coach for many of the younger Canadian 'crossers)

Gunnar Holmgren appears to be taking part in a Trek MTB team camp, also within a stone's throw of Benidorm, but won't be racing this weekend.

At this point one can only hope the siblings Holmgren are still planning to take part at Worlds, because the sisters should be locks for a top 10 finish in the U23 race, in addition to real podium possibilites for Raphaelle Carrier (juniors) and Ian Ackert (U23). Gunnar Holmgren is no favourite for a top 10, but the likeliest man for a decent finish should be selected to race.

Chladoňová being on the start list for tomorrow is a surprise, considering she hasn't raced for almost two months, but I guess Visma could just as well enter all their riders when they were there anyway.

MTBer Valentina Corvi, who rode faster in the ITA U23 race than the elites did later in the day, will also be riding her first World Cup race of the season.

With Imogen Wolff they went full cyclocross, but with Chladonova (arguably the bigger talent) they didn't... maybe they don't really see her as a crosser.

We'll see. Of course Wolff was already on the team before January, so that might have played a part. Before he got banned, @Slavique Nuke also mentioned that Visma hadn't really supported VC much during the road season. In the junior ranks, she didn't ride that many races outside of Slovakia and Czechia either, and with that many races taking place, you can of course easily get to do a lot of racing without having to travel to Belgium and the Netherlands.

It's a bit silly that Tibor del Grosso is still riding these U23 World Cups... he could be another one like Thibau Nys who might be able to follow Van Aert for a bit on that Benidorm course.

I feel like FVE's need to be on the front is going to hurt her later. This is a dirt criterium today, and she's been eating a lot of wind. Shes hanging back now, but she used a lot of energy earlier.
