What was his punishment for his twitter rant against race organizers after the Vuelta snub? (and the 28 jersey rebellion?)

There are already plenty of reasons for races to avoid this team like the plague, and I agree that taking this to CAS adds another.

If there is a contract with no provisions that RS has violated, put them in as a 26th team and let them fail.

Oh shoot, the new Men's Journal with the Armstrong article is on news stands today. Off to see if they added to the sneak preview.

Next time I am at my proctologists office I will read the October '10 issue of Men's Journal.

Come on, Mens' Journal. There business is to sell magazines, same as the NY Times, WSJ, selling paper.

Has Petacchi or his team been dis-invited from any of the said promoters races this year?

What did they expect?

The Hog and Liestrong participated in the 2009 Giro only because Pharmstrong got a $3m appearance fee. Cheatstrong said thanks by causing a rider strike in the Milan stage and by planning to send a ridicolously weak team to the Giro 2010 (which economically is obvious and makes sense as Levi and LA were sent to ToC instead of Italy). So Zomegnan did what is logical and didn't invite them and why should they invite them for Lombardia?

There are teams with better an higher motivated riders around for mid-October...

What’s also telling is there no chorus of backup support from the team managers community. Haven’t heard a peep. Sounds to me the Hog has got very little support. I think people are just tired of the years of having been lied to and using every race other than the Tour as a warm up event. As stated previously. Bruyneel had a guy on his team Contador who was young, loved to ride and win every race he entered and he gave him up for a really old guy who used small races as prep and only raced at the Tour. What’s he complaining about?

This is from someone who is not a fan of Radioshack --I do not care for the highly charged and negative heading of this thread... If you replace Radioshack with any other team name, I doubt people here would let it pass so easily.

Agreements aside, I do not think it is good that a ProTour team that wants to participate has been excluded in favor of other 'pack fill' teams. Say what you will, but Radioshack has a deeper team than many here give them credit. This is not about Sir Lance, Levi, or JB being there, because we all know all of them would skip Lombardia.

Yes, you are right.

Live tv debate during the Quebec GP on UK Eurosport.
Topic: "Do Radio Shack have an elitist, take it or leave it attitude to competing in races.";)
(the commentator is a bit of a fanboy)

I tuned in a bit early for a couple of the Tour stages and suffered through the end of episodes of Planet Armstrong with Carlton Kirby. He's definitely a fanboy. He was doing a telecast with Magnus the morning after the Landis story broke, and he flamed Floyd while saying there was nothing to the whole thing. Magnus followed with an open minded, wait and see attitude.

On the other hand, he was active during the Tour de France telecasts, and by listening to Carlton Kirby, I learned an awful lot...about Carlton Kirby

I'm pretty much with you all around. It's the one thing that I dislike about pro cycling - the frequent lack of professionalism and the pettiness between parties.

I opened the thread as nobody else had, it was an interesting news article and i gave it a title appropriate the title of the original article. And as stated in my original post, i considered putting it in general but knowing how RS discussions go on and on i didnt want the general thread disrupted!

Can't say you did't set yourself up for this one though can you! Your Sky team fanaticism is funny but don't get upset when someone calls you on it. Sky aren't squeaky clean so don't carry on so holier than thou.

If you did report his post you need to take a bit of time out and wake up to yourself.

May not be holier than thou, but Sky are certainly viewed as squeaky clean, when compared to Radio Shack.
Cobblestoned post was off topic and a personal attack of the daftest kind.
Yours fails to address the topic, also.

It's total BS. Radio Shack found out they weren't invited when the 25 teams were announced by organizers, they didn't announce themselves that they hadn't gotten a confirmation. And how many days ago was the announcement? Suddenly there was a January agreement brought to light along with a CAS case, and there were meant to be 26 teams all along?

I wonder who is the "inside source" Velonews spoke to when they checked into Horner's statement?

And which direction was the letter going? Did the team fail to submit something? Did they not receive something they were supposed to submit and not realize?

“A letter confirming the invitation was lost apparently. And so they are working with the UCI to work things out so the team can start the race.”

That should finally silence those stupid arguments about them not getting invited in every race because they didn't respect the Giro d'Italia =/

HTC Columbia send Cavendish to the Tour of California because the race is getting more prestigious every year(their words, not mine) and they send their "B-squad" to the Giro(Greipel and Pinotti, even though they're actually good cyclists.)
Owh, and also because ToC was more important for the sponsor than the Giro :) (again, their words)

I bet Cavendish wont be barred from riding the Giro next year if he decides to ride it. But he's so respectful to the Giro right? ;o
