Rafal Majka discussion thread

Since he's holding his own pretty good in the Giro so far, and since he derails the Contador quite frequently, I think he deserves his own thread. I might change the title when people agree about a nickname:D

In before LaFlo...

Above all it's great to see him finally ride as leader in the Giro after his unfortunate injury last year... A definite Saxo-Tinkoff fan favourite since he joined, and (fingers crossed) with luck and hard work a future GC star of the team.

I always said he was overrated.

He proved me wrong. His performance on Tuesday was better i think than anything even his biggest believers could have predicted.

Poland can get a pretty awessome team for worlds with Kwiatkowski some sort of an ardennes specialist now, Majka flying away from Scarponi on mtfs and niemiec casually pulling the very same scarponi and of course has a top 4 from Lombardy a few years back.

This performance by Majka in Il Giro was a surprise for me, I thought Betancur would get the maglia bianca easily but now will be a epic battle between this two till the end.

I don´t see why he should have problems in the last week, he was one of the best doms for AC in last years Vuelta, also in the last week, it was Majkas work on the first and second climb to Fuentes De that blew up Katusha.

He haven´t had that many race days so far, and the team says one of his forces is his endurance over 3 weeks, though he is a bit sensitive to sickness and injuries, but its getting better.

I think he will surprise a lot of people in the last week, its obvious the team are saving his energy to tackle the next mountain stages, especially in the last week.

+ Huzarski (2nd behind Purito in last year giro hilly stage in Asissi), Marczynski great Vuelta last year now injury problems, also other guys to help like Szmyd, Golas, Rutkiewicz Bodnar on the flat.

We have good riders, good results but one thing is missing wins :(
