Apparently.

And from the post-race commentaries it didnt sound like exhibition. If riders show up on the start, they want to win, but of course nobody is targeting those races.

Their just making it look good for the camera actually, nobody really cares about winning too much. The post Tour crits are fixed and are only about the riders pocketing some cash.

Yeah, I just added it as an additional information. Mainly came here to post about an interview. Anyway, Polish cycling hasnt had much success in international cycling for a while so now I am going to enjoy every single win, fixed or not :D

Does anyone else think Majka may get the taste for this jersey, if the guy wants do Giro every year why not do Giro/TDF. I suppose he as other goals but i think he is a real legitamate winner, i hated when Charteau won the KOTM. Majka went in breaks and could stay with the top guys, i think he could have been on podium.

Doubt it. I think he will try to go for a win in one of the tours, and be super-domestique for Contador in the other. Unless something happens to Alberto (hopefully not) or Contador feels extremely strong then Majka wont get into breakaways.

I was surprised to read that Majka is riding Pologne. After 2 GTs, I thought he was due for a break. This cat has a lot of racing miles this year.

Rafal said that he is very tired after TdF but will go to Poland to prove that winning 2 stages in TdF wasn't a fluke

Did he really say that? Is there anyone who thinks that this was a fluke? And more to the point, what could he possibly do in Poland that would overcome such a belief? I mean, is there somebody out there who would think, "two Tour stage wins, possibly a fluke, but a Poland GC win--now that is the true measure of a great rider!"

Yes, he did.

Is there anyone who thinks that this was a fluke?

Ryszard Szurkowski, one of the best Polish cyclists' ever - 2 times Olympic medalist and 3xWorld Champion (including 2xTTT).

10 chars....

No one in Poland thinks it was a fluke. He's already in TOP10 world climbers. Szurkowski said that his Tour participation initially was not 100 per cent certain and Contador withdrawal helped him. So we can say that this chain of events was somehow lucky for Majka.

Majka has extended his contract with Tinkoff-Saxo until 2017, despite his current deal not running out until next year.

Riis said: “I’m very happy to announce that we’ve extended Rafal’s contract. He still had one year left of his contract but he deserved to get an extension after his efforts this year and during the Tour. He has developed solidly and quickly during the last seasons. I know how hard Rafal has worked during the season and he definitely deserves a spot on the team”

Majka for 2016 TdF!

Yeah, I think if he holds on in flat ITT........he will be fully unleashed. We should finally know what he is capable of after next season if he has no injuries, etc.

I wonder what are his plans for a season though. He said he will ride the Tour as domestique. Don't know if he will do the Giro since he said he enjoys climbs in France and especially the weather much more.

Majka should rest after Tour of Poland, both Riis and Oleg will agree.

Waiting for real showdown during Giro with Majka as a team leader. Now he knows how to blow up weaker opponents.

But it seems like he dislikes the cold. Wonder if at any point he will do Tour (riding himself into shape like this year and then helping AC in the mountains) and Vuelta later.

But man, parcours in Vuelta don't suit him at all.......
And in Giro there is a weather issue.......

Contador for TdF in 2015, and then Giro&Vuelta 2016
Majka for Giro and Tour in 2015, TdF in 2016 :D

LOL seriously wtf happened with majka?

A month ago he didn't seem like a winner at all and i thought he was overhyped but now he won 4 races and was one of the best climbers in the tour.

Really impressive. Became a winner in a month.

So who will lead the Giro? Basso?:) I think Majka will still be the team's best (and only real shot) for the Giro and they will make him do that.
