Just saying that some of us have a background that is not easily generalized.
As for my perspective - most of my European friends arrived at college planning on going back home - they tended to look unfavorably at those who assumed they wanted to stay in the US. What I found most interesting was the two who were particularly vocal about not staying after graduation are still here 20+ years later.
