Anyway I'm pretty sure Vegni rated this race badly. He doesn't like outsiders winning his races. He wants big names on the albo d'oro.

That's why he's bringing Pompeiana in. Make it less unpredictable and have the usual suspects fighting for the win.

Honestly the last 2 years this race was saved by the bad weather.
2012? The year of the great trio Nibs, Gerro and Cance? They could reach the finish line thanks to a motorbike pulling like a crazy, and that would be Fabian, who was in a terrific/monstrous form. Remove Cancellara from the results and bang! Bunch sprint again.

So honestly what the hell are we talking about???
Let Vegni bring the Pompeiana in and finally enjoy a real monument, with REAL chances for everyone, even fugitives.

The pure sprinters still have Paris-Tours if they want (and by the way, talking about people like Kittel, they're the most monodimensional riders in the peloton, so the fewer the races for them, the better for the movement).

needs to be kept simliar to what its always been a classic should always attract and be won by simliar styles of riders with some exceptions allowed of course.

One climb in middle of this would helped toss few out but the result was the correct one, this is a marathon it is what it is.

Only Kittel is like Kittel. Other top tier sprinters can get over hills. There has been some animating action on Cat 2s and 3s by Lotto, cannondale and Cavs team of the year as they try to drop each other or race back on.

The weather made it hard, which made it a different kind of exciting. The same kind of exciting as watching riders grind up the zoncolon (to a smaller degree); less about the strategy and attacking, more about the suffering and tenacity. Thats very different than Omlo (yes the weather was bad) but the excitement ce from the tactics and racing.

More than one way to appreciate this sport...
