Not really, only a bit (which won't have any effect):

Really appreciate the info. Many thanks as always.

While I've disliked seeing riders go out due to crashes, it has given the GC a bit of a shake up and made for interesting watching. I think it's been pretty good so far, but then I have struggled to watch a fair bit so I'm only rating it on what I've seen.

The first part of last year's Giro delivered some of the best action I've seen in a GT (first part comparison). Hours of fun, entertainment and nail biting stuff.
Wiggo downhill in the rain, safe bet for entartinment:D

Gave the giro a 6. Maybe should have been even lower. Not super great at all, but the last two days have been quite okay entartinment wise. Also, even if it was not a great stage GC wise, I like Arrendondo and Rollands mountain raid quite a lot.

How much do you rate the Giro so far out of ten and why?

We are discussing before Saturdays mountain stage.

I give it a 5. It's been quite a unsatisfying race so far, today's tt finally bringing some action into it.

I know that when we hit the real mountains hopefully everything will change. I can't wait for Quintana to smash the mountains in a bid to catch up.

I couldn't rate, the real Giro starts the day after tomorrow.

I gave it a 5 generously--- in thinking more, a 4 so far would be better. Too many crashes, not enough actual race action. Hopefully the back-weighting of the mountain stages will remedy this, even though it also probably caused the boredom thus far.

I'm going to be harsh.
-1 for too many sprints.
-1 for the crashes.
-1 for the main GC guys (Evans, Quintana, Uran, etc.) not attacking.
-1 for waiting until the last couple hundred meters.
-1 for Purito out.
-1 for crap stage design overall
-3 for the riders being wusses about wet roads.
+1 for riders like Arredondo, Rolland, and Pozzovivo to a slightly lesser extent for going for it with attacks.

So that will be a 2...

Gave it a 5.

All I can say is, that last week of mountains better deliver...
If tomorrow is going to be another 'wait until last 3km' mountain stage then I'm going to strangle somebody

If they don't deliver can I volunteer to be the one you strangle. Spare me the pain of having to sit through the rest of it. :p

been hanging for the mountians and wasn't looking forward to anything before the ITT, so I'm not particularly disappointed.

losing a few GC contenders, either outright or on time (Martin, J Rod, Scarponi, Hyserdal(sp?)) hasn't boded well for next week.

that said, looking forward to see what ulissi, Aru and Maijka(sp?) do as well

I gave it a 6- for the close sprints and the TTT.
Personal bias might also influence- how succesful Matthews/ Rogers were but then again Evans' ride today was a bit of a letdown :( (from an Aussie POV- great stage overall)

7 - crashes or not, the race is very open and a LOT has happened in the first 10 days. Sprint stages have been pretty average without Kittel, but I think the 2 mountain stages delivered, if not for its GC action, then thanks to Arredondo. Only truly bad thing is that JRod is out of the race and that there have been too many crashes. The riders are not to blame for that. Rain combined with south italian roads is doomed to cause crashes. Overall the first 10 days have laid the foundation for some very exciting racing to come. Can't complain about that

Whaaaaaaaat?

Just compare the stages for crying out loud!

The TT's even themselves out, but last year we had a better MTF and more hilly stages with action.

Yes, the breakaways made the race interesting on the hilly stages, but the GC was pretty much settled with Nibs in pink. Uran though, he's not a reliable rider in the high mountains.

7. Sounds a little high, as there hasn't been much action and some horrible crashes have occurred but boy, I couldn't think of any better occupational therapy.

What makes you think that Uran is not reliable in the high mountains? He is a great climber....

He hasn't impressed me so far in this Giro. And of course he can climb well, but I doubt his consistency in a GT.

But then again, his opponents face the same problem. We will see tomorrow.

I will vote 4 i had high hopes for this Giro with Purito, Quintana and Porte riding of course if Porte was hear it would be a 10:rolleyes:, i think it will get better though, right now Giro is 3rd best GT in terms of excitement, same last year.

What was better watching Nibali dominate a crap field or watch Froome dominate a GT legend in Contador?. Giro was always my fav GT last year was just unlucky though because the weather messed it up.

I make that -8.

I gave it a 4. Which feels overly generous, and probably was only because yesterday's ITT is still relatively fresh in my mind (probably because I only actually paid attention to the last 2km of today's stage, else I'd have fallen into some kind of stupor).
