Yes... but that was not a win, quite the opposite, in fact.
Besides... it's hard to show highlights of a rider who disappeared.
But we had G's crash as a highlight yesterday, or so I thought.
You're still in time to disguise it as a highlight for Champoussin

Indeed, today's choice was a given too. But just to clarify, I would have picked it too if VDP had won; it's a Monument!
Unless, of course, he's won P-R too. Then I would probably have picked P-R over Flanders.

Phenomenal win by MvdP. Strade was one of my favorite races this year (and other years). I had totally forgotten that Bernal finished third in a race that wasn't designed for his type.

"The man who caused the crosswinds"
We should never underestimate just how powerful these riders are.

Well... Chris Anker did use to frequently tell the story of that time when Riis told the riders to "just create some!" when they told him there weren't any crosswinds to utilise for his crosswind riding plans.

A record matched. (Maybe next year I'll post an entrance called "A record broken".)

Fun fact: I had originally picked Honoré Basque Country stage win, and put Cavendish' - by comparisson - rather insignificant stage 6 win on the first as "his entrance" (Cav was one of the cases where I definitely wanted to include a certain rider), but in the end I decided that Cavendish sprinting to the win that saw him equal the TdF stage win tally with Merckx was definitely more important that Honoré not-sprinting to a Basque Country stage win.

There was no way he wasn't ganna win this one.

And there was no way I was going to pass up the opportunity to make a good pun, or lame pun, guess that's a matter of perspective.
