Looks like another rider goes down...
AIGLE, Switzerland -- Spanish rider Jose Antonio Redondo was suspended Friday by cycling's governing body for testing positive for testosterone.
Redondo gave an out-of-competition urine sample with traces of testosterone on March 13, the International Cycling Union (UCI) said.
Redondo was told on April 9 that he was provisionally banned, the UCI said.
The Spanish Cycling Federation will investigate whether Redondo has committed an anti-doping violation.
The UCI said the rider has requested a provisional hearing into his suspension. Redondo has the right to request and attend the analysis of his backup sample.
Redondo rides for the Andalucia-Cajasur team, which has second-tier Pro Tour Continental status.
He rode for the Astana team in 2007 but was fired for breaking team rules.
