That Johan Jacobs is in the break so often...

With the strongest teams represented in the break, the question rises who's going to work in the bunch. The gap could go up to five minutes and more.

The final looks attractive, with twice the duo Kapelmuur-Bosberg, and a finish on the "Vesten" - the slope just before the Kapelmuur. MvdP is an obvious favorite, but Wellens is motivated as the defending champion.

Steppers and Lotto have been working full time in the peloton. Avg. pace is above 50 km/h. No piano today.
There will be casulties methinks.
115kms to go.

Guys are abandoning left, right and center so this crazy pace is starting to tell. It's all that broccoli juice, I tell you!

Weird tactics btw from QS. Magnier was sacrificing himself just before the Muur for god knows who. And now QS have missed it.

How hard have they been riding btw? This looks way more selective than last few years with limited hills covered?

That had best not be Fred on the front doing a lot of the work ffs you have a guy up front are towing all the favourites to him.

Peloton is getting bigger. Red Bull and Movistar riding. Might not be over yet (Intermarché and Quick Step will start too). This part till Denderoorberg is pretty long.

As always between 1st and 2nd Muur peloton will probably close the gap just before the Muur, where a new elitegroup will form

That's it Fred attack on the shallow section of the Muur and get immediately countered and dropped that's how it's done.

De Lie looks good though, following VDP

This is the De Lie we want to see. He’s truly back. Will be hard to beat him on this finish if they stay away.

Del Grosso in G2. Good for Alpecin.
Mathieu slowing down the group, not his normal mindset but the best tactic now with De Lie.

Van der Poel not riding with De Lie en Wellens. Bahrain guys, Bettiol en Del Grosso might come back. And then Wellens and De Lie have a problem against the duo's.

And Mathieu is gone. Over & Out

Really dumb from De Lie btw. Why was he just riding that hard with Van der Poel in his wheel before the Bosberg whil every single year the Bosberg is also way worse for him than the Tour

It’s still not over. 2 against 1. Maybe they can come back again with that 3rd group. Del Grosso could be key then.
