Rafal Majka, Barguil, Betancur, Quintana,...... were some of the revelations of the 2013 saison. Who do you think that will be the revelations in 2014.

I expect big things from Stuyvens. Also the Yates brothers, Ewan will be great when he joins the WT (was he going to do it in the later part of 2014? I forget), Mohoric was great at worlds.

Also a couple guys already in the WT who I am looking forward to seeing the progression of and who could have their big breakthroughs are Dombrowski, Elissonde, Villella.

I'd add Coquard to this years list as well.

Edit: Another to watch, Rick Zabel. Starting with BMC.

Kwiatkowski was perhaps one of the best revelations, especially since he seems to be able to do anything; cobbled and hilly monuments, and even GC in the Tour. I'm looking forward to his 2014 and if he can take another huge step.

I think Atapuma will surprise, just as Dombrowski who is going to strike back after a difficult year.

And watch out for Fabio Aru, he will shine even more in 2014!

How do you think Arredondo will do? It will be interesting to see his race schedule

Arredondo himself said that he will compete at the Giro, and perhaps the Tour in service of the Schleck brothers. Of course that will be to much and to high for him, especially because it is his first year in the WT and he had to show that he can compete at this level.

I think, if he performs well in the first races, that he will do Catalunya, Pais Vasco and Amstel-FW-LBL, because he says he is more a classic rider (short steep climbs) than a true climber, and he wants to perform well in one-day races. Perhaps he can do well in Pais Vasco, and get a free role in WF, because he can do well on a Mur de Huy.

But most likely he will learn and ride in service for team leaders (who don't give up after 30 k;)).

Durbridge & Moser will have better years,
Aru, Lutsenko, Coquard, Jan Polanc, Jasha Sutterlin, Sonny Colbrelli :)

I hope Matteo Cattaneo can show himself after his hard crash in the Giro. He rode quiet well in Paris-Nice, and he still has the potential.

arredondo is a real classical specialist, but like any colombian can clibm high mountains. he is very explosive and also build like a sprinter.

Like i say in my post before. He is like Murito, perhaps isn't that good as a true climber (still 25 though, enough time to improve), but he beat Weening, Pardilla and Stetina on the lang ascent of Genting Higlands, so he indeed can perform well on longer climbs.

I suppose they will take him to Argentina (Trek has already confirmed this race) so we can hope for a first impression

Yeah, would be good if he arrives there in nearly his best form, so he can go there for a good result (why not winning a stage?). Most likely he will come up short this year in the major races, so benefit from the crumbles they left at the beginning of the year.

imo Quintana was not a revelation this season.

He showed in Vuelta 2012 that he could climb with Contador and Rodriguez as a 22 yo domestique, and of course had countless top performances before that, so to see him beat these guys as a 23 yo team leader, was not a surprise.

Whilst Haas slaved on the front for Steitina.

Jens Keukeleire
Damien Howson
Bob Jungels
Romain Bardet
Moreno Hofland
Davide Villella
Johan Le Bon
Rohan Dennis
Jon Izagirre
Bryan Coquard

OK, 10 guys:D

I would have characterised Coquard and Dennis already as having broken out this year- a spell in a yellow jersey at the Dauphinie and a stage race for Dennis and Coquard won quite a few races.

You could even say in 2012 they were revelations- 5th TDU, silver at the Olympics pursuit/ U23 WC ITT and then a ride in the Olympics track (I think???) and 2nd at the U23 RR.

Yeah- Hepburn is (rode well at WC TTT :)).
