poor ricco. can't get it right no matter how much he tries.

i'd be interested in more details of the 'health' suspension.

was it the usual blood work anomaly or lack of proper tue or what else ?

iirc, ricco had always owned a permit for higher than 50% hct...was that the reason ?

That's the thing, I suspect they pulled this out of their *** just because Riccò is so notable and such an easy target. Citing vague health concerns basically allows them to suspend anyone.

Hanging around half-dead after another failed blood transfusion - very vague, I see.

A lot of people here are just waiting for the next dead pro, it seems.

Don't put words in my mouth. I'm on record here saying I don't want Riccò to return, ever, both for the good of cycling and especially for his own good. But it's very suspicious that they only thought of suspending him for health concerns the moment he found a new team. It sounds to me like they can't legally do anything to him, but they don't want him racing so they pull something like this to keep him in a legal limbo at least until the investigation is completed. The problem is the same as with BMC, Ballan and Santambrogio. Everyone knows what's going on, but cycling doesn't have the legal means to do anything about it, and both BMC and Riccò want to take advantage of it.

Could they be being completely honest? Would this be a reasonable thing to do to a rider who almost died of renal failure, regardless of the causes? Yes. But the record of pro cycling doesn't lead me to believe that's the case.

All I can say is that I hope he doesn't kill himself because came really ****ing close last time.

Even if it's just a technicality, I still don't understand why the doctor had any right to tell anybody that Ricco said he ****ed up a blood transfusion. If someone gets admitted to hospital with for example a heroin overdose do the doctors call the police too in Italy?

Personal use of heroin is not in the same legal category as doping in Italy. We've been over this, and apparently the doctor had the legal obligation of telling the authorities. A better analogy would be getting admitted to hospital with a gunshot wound - the doctors would have to report that.

however that doctor is now dead. means they have no more proove or witnesses. that's whyt they use this bs excuse to suspend him in italy.

i hope he can change and leave all behind, his pro career is over, time for family now,he has a son(alberto, named after his giro rival from 2008)
very nice from cipo to support him as a human, hope his friends and his family will do the same.

Hmm, for some reason, I thought Cipo hated Ricco. His face looks so fat lol, funny.

I dont think Cipo likes Riccò at all, and lately Cipollini is acting a little bit "weirdly", not his usual style.

what's to hate NOW at riccardo?he always had the mind of a 7 years old and now they even took all the toys away from him.
of course you hate the guy when he has succes, talks bullshiit after every race and so on.and i'm sure cipo hated ricco.but now, this guy is straight to the floor and the other one is feeling mercy for him which is pretty normal.
