A simple search would have revealed that we've had numerous Ricco threads in the last few months. RolandRat started another just last week.

I'm not going to close this thread, but I want everyone to please try to stay on topic and watch the insults. Making comments regarding other riders in reference to Ricco (such as Marco's self-given nickname) are fine, but it's so easy for threads on controversial figures to get completely derailed and end up in the mud.

Ricardo Ricco is such a multi faceted phenomenon. The rider, the fashion icon, the pr-genious etc. How could one thread ever be enough?

I welcome him back. He was never being boring.

How is my man Ricco going to get into a GT? It does not seem likely that Vac will get a Pro Tour license?

Agree Bro, but still even if ?

Wasn't it supposed to be the deal for next year, that the teams eligible for the 3 Grand Tours up front, were made up out of the UCI team ranking and not if they have a PT license or not. And that if Vac will get one, they will be againg in the lions cage for a ASO wild card, which with the Cobra isn't a guarantee as for example is with Sastre on board for GEOX.

Apparently Stijn Devolder didn't raise any objections when they asked him what he thought about the Ricco signing.

‘Ik heb weinig met hem te zien, hé. Oké, hij heeft een slechte naam. Maar hoeveel jongens hebben dat niet? Er zijn mensen die al veel ergere zaken gedaan hebben in het leven, hoor. Sommige moordenaars lopen nog altijd vrij rond. Neen, Riccò heeft zijn straf uitgezeten, dus verdient hij net als iedereen een nieuwe kans.'

Quick transl: Yes he has a bad name. But about how many others can you say the same thing? There are many people who have done worse things. There are still murderers who walk around free. No. Ricco has served his sentence, so he deserves another chance just like everyone else.

Leukemans however declined to comment on the matter

Riccò is an exciting rider! Just hope he can make the same performances ... without any extra help... Vacansoleil is one team I think deserves better luck on what concerns invitations, they had already Hoogerland, Leukemans, Feillu, I just expect that with Riccò they can go to big races!!

Leukemans is the last one to comment on Ricco ever because he not only doped himself but to this day lies about it saying he never did anything(like basso). he even made up the whole story that he had sex just before they tested him as a cause for his high testosterone. I swear I'm not making this up lol.

UCI blocks Ricco's start at Vacansoleil again

Ricco must again postpone debut Vacansoleil

OVERIJSE - Italian cyclist Riccardo Ricco is still not in action Wednesday in the Druivenkoers of Overijse. That made the team led by Vacansoleil Tuesday.
after the cancellation of the GP Ouest France in Plouay the second time the Italian course forced a late shot.

''It is still awaiting the necessary documents of the UCI''said team manager Hilaire Van der Schueren.

"'To make matters worse it appears the manager at Ceramica Flaminia on holiday in Africa so that the case could drag on for a while. I can not say when Ricco his first course will run for our team.''

Ricco last week signed a contract with him until the end of 2012 Vacansoleil to Dutch cycling binds formation. The Italian bought before his contract with Ceramica Flaminia off.

They will. Giro organizer said he's glad Ricco is working together with Sassi. Pellizotti is someone he isn't happy with.

The post said " is Ricco dying". Death is slightly different to injuries.

seriously no speculation but a fact

Ohh boy, ¿¿If things settle down who will pick-up the Cobra and give this all time hero á save haven and á descent home, or who, what, where, is the best place for RR to go tooooo ...¡¡

I have to remind: “You'll get over it...' It's the clichés that cause the trouble. To lose someone you love is to alter your life for ever. You don't get over it because 'it' is the person you loved. The pain stops, there are new people, but the gap never closes. How could it? The particularness of someone who mattered enough to grieve over is not erased by anyone but death. This hole in my heart is in the shape of you and no one else can fit. Why would I want them to?”

¿¿is this a typical case of Could've, Would've, Should've ...¡¡

I have to remind: “That some birds aren't meant to be caged. Their feathers are just too bright. And when they fly away, the part of you that knows it was a sin to lock them up DOES rejoice. Still, the place you live in is that much more drab and empty that they're gone. I guess I just miss my friend.”

things settling down???can't see that unfortunately.only one who can and MUST give ricco a home is his family.it's always the best place to go.

y'all know that i'm kind of recognised as an entertainment lover but there are limits.having a kid but still doing a transfusion on your own in your home while your cute fiance is supervising you is a no no for me.

i was and will remain an ulllrich fanboy forever.but i never wanted him back when he retired.it wasn't his place,he wasn't happy at all on the bike.he didn't deserve this whole circus.allways i imagined him living a quiet life as a farmer surrounded by a big family.you could read it in his eyes.on the other hand, riccardo's obsession with pro cycling can kill him.i hope he realize that he has a kid to grow and that's more important than winning races and piszing people off.as a fan,i'll never abandon him but he has to do the right thing.
