Richie Porte - what do we know about him?

lol, this is too funny. Porte didn't even look tired. You'd think he'd at least feign exhaustion afterwards, sit down by the barriers or something (like Froome sometimes does).

Next Sky training camp: "How to look tired". They'll bring in an acting coach to perfect the look of exhaustion.

Porte didn't look tired because he cooled down by softpedaling the latter part of the course.

A little too obvious, eh?

20+ seconds in the first half, just over a second in the second half, and coasting over the line smiling and looking fresh.

No doubt he was told to chill after the intermediate check.

Full f*cking genius...

Sean Kelly's comment on seeing Porte's 21 second lead at the intermediate was pure gold.

"Uh, can that be right?"

Even the commentators think it's a joke.

He may have doped himself (well, not may, he did) but you just gotta love Sean Og - he just doesn't take any sh!t at all, does he.

Yes. Richie Porte who started road racing at 21.

Is faster over 5km than a world and Olympic champion at the 4km pursuit!

He is one of those talented young lads snapped up by DB who uses numbers and such to predict future potential. It's called picking winners and losers and SKY is really good at it.

I wonder if we will soon witness the comical USPS trend - in pursuit of higher glory - that when someone leaves the team, they will only be a shadow of their former selves.

Well he keeps saying he's happy working for Froome-dawg and Wiggins. Which is odd that at 28 he doesn't want to try and win a GT.

It's Hotel California for Porte. You can check-in anytime you like but you can never leave.

Sky is worth 30w to him.

Pretty clear Thomas Lovkvist was not invited to Teide.

Ritchie for the Giro 2014. Good on him.
First Tasmanian GT winner. That sells over there.

I nominate Mick Rogers to be that shadow.
