Why is lawyer in single quotation marks? Odd.

As to my vocabulary, what benefit derives from trying to replace a word that is both perfectly useful and apposite? There's something rather Newspeak-y about that idea...

Because I couldn't remember if it was you who said they were a lawyer or if it was someone else who said they were a lawyer and I was getting you mixed up with them.

But you're right, the term 'troll' for Del1962 is bang on.

Wiggins (2012) and Froome (2013) didn't have a withdrawal lull. Though the scheduling may be different with the Giro but in that case why did he bother showing up. Likewise if he was still genuinely sick/injured. Maybe he just had a shocking day. He was originally down to do Coppi e Bartali IIRC, and nothing now until Trentino? Interesting times.

Oh I forgot the whole dual peak thing may be what's complicating things.

Odd it all is considering the recent spate of information.

But let's see how the Dawg performs tomorrow and Thursday.

Worse than that, I suspect that there was a mix up when the pillows were distributed at the team hotel.

Poor guys having to use someone else's pillow. Isn't that against the Human Rights Act? :D

He'd better use a pillow case. Don't want to be exchanging fluids unprotected.

Richie was doing fine up until a week ago, ready to peak for 6 months like last year.. then suddenly this?

Its just strange.

He was 5s behind Bertie on one stage and looking well. Then suddenly he is hit with illness overnight.

Odd.

It's not that they share pillows, it is that he didn't get the marginal gain "Altitude pillow" that SKy/DB has been developing. That pillow removal or misplacement induced an atypical sickness in poor Richie.

Odd.

'Man get's sick and finds it hard to perform in elite athletic pursuit' really isn't that odd, is it?

.......so Sky's PR will be claiming he'll be available & ready within 48 hours to do a massive training & be ready for the next race.......

It was the same claim during T-A.......

two consecutive drop outs........hmmmm

maybe "afraid" or "empty" the cause behind this???

Odd indeed

My God, it's almost as if he was actually ill last week, and wasn't fully recovered to return after all... but that's a ludicrous interpretation of events, right? He has to have been dropping out of events because the dope testers are closing in / blood banking / beemed back up to outer space, correct?

Yeah right, from a team that prides itself on leaving no stone unturned and a rider focused environment.

DB: Richie, are you feeling better?
Richie: Sure, yeah , I'll give it a go and we'll see what happens?

Horse manure. I would have at least expected an evaluation by medical if he was indeed fit to start. And if he was, then he should at least have finished a few stages. Especially if the team is what it says it is.

come on, rownhamhill,
nobody claims porte's sickness/withdrawal is odd as a stand-alone event.
