Porte to beat Cancellara in a long ITT this year.

tbf there would be nothing wrong with that. Time trialing is 1 skill Porte most definately did have evidently from the start. I think he came 4th in his first worlds.

If he were to become a tt specialist even if he were to become THE tt specialist and began to beat Martin and Cancellara with ease, he would not be getting so much clinic attention. (though considering Cancellara is a doper, and Martin hardly seen as clean, that doesnt mean people would think hes clean)

Its the fact that he turned into 1 of the best climbers in the world after joining sky, on top of keeping that tt skill, and coming up with cliched crap like - we train harder, that this thread is about.

Porte is usually a couple of minutes behind the best though. But now i have a feeling he will get that same improvement Wiggo did between 2011 and 2012.

Do you have any evidence that Tony Martin isn't clean ?

You kiddin' - Sky are going for 1-2-3 in the tour....

Kind of reminds me of Giorgio Furlan (Gewiss) in the spring of 1994 as he won everything in sight. Of course he retired early from severe thrombosis.

Yep, a tiny little guy like that who has the wattage to TT with the best is pretty silly trying to climb now, just doesn't pass the believable test at all.

Is this true? I know of riders who've had deep vein thrombosis, both amateurs and professionals, and they've been able to return to racing after being treated for this condition.

Of course, it makes it more difficult when the doctor tells you you must never take EPO again...

I don't know his 40km TT time for OD triathlon, but running sub-30 for 10km at the end is a strong indication of ability.

Prove it. That number gets sprayed around far too often among triathlon crowds. They say it happens all the time. Truth is it doesn't.

If he was that fast he'd never have left triathlon. You run that fast and few do these days, even fewer clean, then he'd be in elite level contention.

I dare say you won't find one under 21 year old male who can run a clean sub 30 min 10km at the end of a triathlon. The real reason guys switch to bike riding is the access to dope is better in the pro ranks. It pays better. Truth be told is that they are better bike riders. Running is pure technique. Take Armstrong. Such a poor runner he developed shin splints. Matthew Lloyd had a better junior triathlon record. Nobody is calling him a sub 30min 10K runner. Does not happen. You're that good, you can win Olympic Gold. Great triathletes are very good at each of the four legs. Guys who switch to pro bike riding are generally only really good at one thing...riding.

Think I'm wrong? Ask Rogers about it. He made comments about how good all the riders were running. Was in 2009. Said that might be one of the things LA could beat riders at. Running, because everyone in the peloton sucked at running.

Future Tour winner, no doubt...if he stays with SKYborg ofc, only needs the SKYborg revolutionary training methods to reach this goal, but absolutely reachable if he stays. Cycling became the joke of the century.

En 1999, Giorgio Furlan met fin à sa carrière, victime d'une thrombose à la jambe.

In 1999 Giorgio Furlan ended his career, victim of thrombosis in a leg.

Sky need to get Sagan on board. He'll be up Alpe d'huez so fast he'll take off at the top like he was a freestyle motocross rider then next day beat Cavendish while pulling wheelies at 50mph.

Well, we have got to learn there is a 7% downfall from a 20 minute effort in comparison to a high col/fourty minute effort.

0,93 x 6,35 = 5,91 = believable

Those guys do good maths, even on the bike. Must be why Ritchie toned his second half on col d'Eze down.

I watched the stage end on YouTube. Froome looked bad doing what he did. Porte was worse. Looked like Armstrong use to. Didn't even need to hop out of the saddle. Just put the gas down and dropped everyone. Caught the chase group of Peraud, Mollema and co and just distanced them like it was nothing. Looked just like LA back in the day.

We're gonna be seeing a lot more of that this year. Extraterrestrial. Out of this world. Abnormal. Something clearly wrong and dirty is going on behind the scenes. They're power hungry. I wonder if some of the guys who left the team after the whole USADA case came up, who had to be exorcised for image purposes, were telling the team during the race to keep it kind of real. Yesterday was anything but. They've been let off the leash and both Froome and Porte are frothing at the mouth. They're like pack dogs...they psyche each other up and are high on their clear power advantage.

All aboard the freak train doping express to hell courtesy of SkyNet and the SkyBorgs!! Fasten your seat belts people, it's gonna be one hell of a ride. Prepare yourself for a potential crash as this train is bucking the rail tracks.

I really hope David Walsh does his homework on Sky otherwise he could undo all the Armstrong work.

Sky winning all round them and yet no transparency, lots of PR that means nothing. So much for the declaration of doing it clean and transparent. Amazing how Sky fans forget this. Kimmage talked of being shown the huge tome for Sky's clean and transparent method for cycling. Why not publish it online in the interests of tranparency and clean cycling? I can guess why they dont!
