But why do you hate him so much. Because he is narcissistic? I mean, your anger about him is so huge that there has to be something moreLibertine Seguros said:I don't give a flying one how he rode and whether he deserved to win today. For the on-bike activities, he did deserve to win today.PremierAndrew said:Libertine Seguros said:I would literally rather have watched a six hour group ride won by Simon Gerrans.ppanther92 said:Libertine Seguros said:I hate cycling. **** this sport. **** everything to do with this sport. **** that guy and anyone who likes him and defends him.
Why this breakdown? Exciting race with a deserving champion.
I respect you most of the time, but what the hell? He acts like a tool off the bike, sure, but what was wrong with Sagan's ride today? He could have waited just like Matthews Gerrans Kristoff etc and would have definitely been one of the favourites, but instead he attacked, which is clearly more entertaining. He doesn't hide in the wheels and did it all without a team today. Like it or not, he deserved to win today
But I would rather have had an undeserving victor of a horrible race raced horribly by horrible people than a good race won well by Peter Sagan. If he got away in a highly improbable group of himself, Gerrans, Leipheimer, Froome and Mick freaking Rogers, I'd still want him to come last. There is literally no active cyclist you can name who I wouldn't want to see beat Sagan.
Sounds like it's a good job I didn't watch the speech. I turned off when he sat up knowing he'd got it. The sport is dying to me in front of my eyes.

I didn't really follow the news much the last couple months, what did he do again?
I would root for Stevic. And then if he won I would insist on Chris Kuntz getting a commentary job.GuyIncognito said:Libertine Seguros said:There is literally no active cyclist you can name who I wouldn't want to see beat Sagan.
Stevic? Literally a criminal who's never been punished?

I suppose that's the thing. Either we're talking about cycling or we're not.hrotha said:Why do people always ask LS to explain why they dislike Sagan over and over again, and THEN complain when LS replies? LS is 100% entitled to their opinion, which contrary to what people say is perfectly justified. Leave it be if you don't want to hear about it.
I don't like Sagan's personality one bit, but at least he's a rider of sufficient status to be world champ. So kinda like Hushovd. I can work with this.
BigMac said:As I said, it's understandable that you feel bad with a Sagan win, but when you look at the guys who finished behind, you ought to thank him for it. It would be a disgraceful ending to have the wheelsuckers carousel winning the race. Sporting wise, Sagan totally deserved it. And at the end of the day, cycling wins.

He didn't say he "won for" them. He just said he wanted to spare a mention for... well... whatever the hell he was talking about. Top athletes have a big audience hanging onto their words and they have the ability to draw attention to issues. If they want to speak about it, then good for them. There is absolutely nothing wrong with that as long as it's sincere.SeriousSam said:Sagan saying he won for the people in the world because there's some stuff going on in Europe. I hate that cringeworthy **** where athletes feel the need to play insightful commentators of world affairs.

I honestly don't get this hate for 'wheel suckers'.
Cycling isn't a sport about who can attack the most, it's a sport about who can win the most. Some does that by attacking, others do it by staying in the peloton and waiting for the sprint.
Others still do it by a bit of both.
