Gesink tries really hard but can't stay on the bike.

I don't really think that Gesink belongs in this discussion. I mean, yes, he's frustratingly fragile and that often screws up his main season goals. But he does actually win races regularly. I was actually surprised how many when I went back through his palmares. He has 12 wins (16 if you bother to count his early .2s) at the age of 26.

He's no Contador, JRod, Evans, Valverde or 2012 Wiggins when it comes to picking up races outside his main GT target but he's no Van Den Broeck or Schleck either.

He's the leader on multiple ocasions and always fails to win something important.

No idea, I guess some people didn't read the topic question.

EBH has won 41 races over the last 5 years (since he became a pro). That's 8,2 victories in average per season over 5 years. I doubt there are many people in the peloton with statistics like that, probably only Cavendish and Greipel with better stats...

Sure, he doesn't win as big races as he should, but that's a different topic entirely.
