So, we North Americans are no closer to a 'solution,' right? I may have to go the VPN route and just watch local broadcasters, although given the time difference from Europe to western Canada that may be tricky.

Aside from the price, Flobikes has been great for the CX season. It even plays nice with my Roku Smart TV, which GCN+ kept promising was coming, but was never was able to manage. The priee is even acceptable if they manage to pick up a few more of the races not yet on the calendar.

I'm in Canada. I know the USA rights situation is more complicated.

If a race is on Eurosport, there will be two links to it on the D + app: one for the subscriber version, one for the ES version. They are identical but for the ads. My guess is that you clicked on the ES one by mistake (as I did the other day).

No idea why they offer both: do they think some people prefer the race to be interrupted with ads?

You mean ES 1 and 2 as channels? An unpredictable subsection of the cycling content that is on Discovery + will be shown on them, with ad-breaks, and not necessarily live, basically depending on what else is on at the same time/what other proportion of ES viewers they feel a need to satisfy.

But if your subscription that includes ES is with Sky, you might well have Discovery + bundled with that, although I believe it takes a little seeking out. Instructions above, IIRC.

I believe Flobikes has a fair bit more content for its Canadian subscribers than the Americans. The Tour de France, for example.

I've already noticed they've been picking up lots of the smaller races that weren't listed on their long range calendar. The big hole in their programming is the RCS content (Giro, Strade, Lombardia, etc.)

Yes. You get less in the US mainly because MAX has most of the rights for that market. MAX is not available in Canada

From May 21st, Max (former HBO) will launch in Europe and in addition to their base plan, will have a sports pack featuring many of the events that Eurosport has rights on, including many of the cycling coverage. Let's see what it means for those of us who have Eurosport Player.

Yeah but that is the ad supported version. Like the article says if you want ad free, like Eurosport player offers, it's almost double that.

"One of the novelties: customers must first take out a basic subscription (about 5.99 euros) and on top of that a Sport add-on (additional subscription for all sports broadcasts from HBO Max, at 5 euros) must close to stream sport. This will cost almost 11 euros per month for Dutch and Belgian viewers; converted 132 euros per year.

A premium subscription to HBO Max (without advertising, on four devices to view) can also be done, but will already cost 14 euros per month, where the Sport subscription is added to 5 euros per month. Converted: 19 euros per month and 228 euros per year."

Hmm. I only pay 89 for the standard subscription (and then + 40 for the sports package (which I have to say is really cheap). But I can see that the price should be 119 as you say. Odd.

40 (DKK) a month would indeed be a great price, if that was all I'd have to pay.
However, I'll basically have to pay 199 (DKK) a month for a bunch of crap I have no interest in, + the 40 for the thing I do want to buy.
Why can't the sport package be a stand-alone package?
