The article mention that they wanna sponsor some regional team not making their own.
But they got already an amateur team in Italy, althought never seen them around so must be very local one.

Thank God...recently I have been soooo lamenting the lack of hype in this sport. Another injection of Escalade team cars, skanky women, management linked to drug trafficking, and horrid kit is exactly what this sport needs right now.

And they're gonna be extra sweet this time for sure - check the only item in the "News" section of their new Web site:

"From now on you'll find a brand new skull on all Rock Racing kits."

That can only mean one thing - these badasses must be for real this time!

Been twittering and FBing with these guys the last week or so, good to see them back in business "officially", although I ordered stuff from them last week(The Crusifix Jersey, one saddle and some bar tape). My wife wants one of their bikes, so I guess for after Christmas she can ride her Rock Racing bike on a trainer till spring.

The best jersey design ever. Hopefully they get a team back up and running, as in racing in the US in all races or Europe in major races..or both.

Lame. The clothing line looks ridiculous. More skulls make us look badass! Whooooooooo! We're such badboys!

Their clothing line is a metaphor for insecure, vinegar-soaked lamesters.

Great. One ball leaves the peloton and another Ball returns.

:D Nice.

"Rock Racing bikes and clothing will soon go on sale in Europe and the USA and Tronconi hopes to sponsor regional teams in California and New York, and an amateur team in Italy."

“Michael Ball is not dead and has not run away to Mexico,” Tronconi told Cyclingnews.

Bummer...

What kind of imbecile would fund such ridiculousness? I don't make up words lightly... Who would possibly think that this isn't going to end any differently than the last time?

Let me guess their new team roster:

Floyd Landis
Michael Rasmussen
Ricardo Ricco

Maybe even Lance and Alberto can join, depending on how their cases go...

As far as the doping goes there is not much difference between Rock and Phonak 2.0--I mean BMC--Radio Shack, HTC, Movistar, Astana, Lampre, Lotto, Saxobank, and pretty much every other World Tour team. That is a bogus issue. Hype is good for the sport. So are blingy cars and hot women. Having a kit that stands out is a heck of a lot better than a boring kit based in this season's popular color, which seems to be the typical design used by half of the World Tour teams. With someone other than Ball handling the management, the team might be able to keep its promises to the riders.
